Seems to be my day to quote Rusty....

There was a dually off the road on my way into work this morning. Way in the ditch. I didn't slow down. Guy was sitting in the drivers seat on the phone. Whoever he was calling was going to be more capable than me getting him out.

Opened my bill this morning. $560. Get a heat pump they said, save money. Then they increase electric rates....:eek::eek:

My two favorites of hers are Righteously and Sweet Old World, which was covered by Emmylou Harris with backing vocals from Neil Young. I like the Lucinda version better.

Current project for my customer. I’ve got 9 more to finish on OP 1 then I can setup the soft jaws, face off the top hat, and finish chamfer and engrave.

She has such an interesting voice, catches your ear just for the texture of it and then the stories draw you in.

Or it could have been converted from something else. Sometimes I run into those when I am converting or importing from other formats.

Splines have their place but I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've used them in 20 years. The most recent was a few years ago laying out some concrete landscaping edging because splines kind of self adjust themselves to make a smoother transition.

    Landscape edging in orange:

    upload_2023-1-26_12-13-45.jpg

Trying to draw that long one with lines and arcs would be horrible.

Examples of the differences for any interested parties:

    Showing the end and midpoints:

    upload_2023-1-26_12-7-18.jpg

I have AutoCAD's default line command (L) remapped to always draw polylines (PL) instead because I'll almost always need a closed polyline for my plans so I'll end up having to convert the lines to polylines anyway so I might as well cut to the chase.

    splines can suck it..

I'll either try to clean up the solid model prior in SW.. or.. import into Mastercam as is and then create new Geo or try to simplify splines.

Good ol’ Tennessee let AEP increase rates by 30%. We’ve heard of people having $800 power bills.

My bill has gone from $200 incrementally up to $560. Some of that is just due to colder weather and the heat pump working harder. In December my kilowatt usage was 60 KW for the month (I think that is right, going from memory, which is a scary) and that bill was $400. In January it was 67 KW and $560.

I just got in the habit of using 'pl' instead of 'l' when starting a line. Any advantage to remapping it, or you just can't teach an old dog new tricks?

No advantage, just one less key to hit each time. Same with changing "C" from circle to copy. I hardly ever draw circles but I'm constantly copying things.
