Fun fact, the Detroit Lions have only 1 playoff win in the last 65 years. And it was a 32 point win over the Cowboys!

Definitely a tough subject. Not unlike people who feel Super Bowl rings decide the better quarterback, for a parallel.

Coming up short ain't ideal but it still means you got in the playoffs to begin with..which some people/teams are not doing more often than not

At least to those paying attention..but yes re the money QB. I won't use the Tom Brady example again but look at guys like Trent Dilfer. He won a ring by being on a team with a crippling defense/special teams and a stud RB next to him..oh and some idiot kicker too. He was a short money deal but he didn't have to do much except not screw up.

There are the occasional game manager QB’s that are on the right team at the right time (Hostetler, Flacco, Dilfer) but there are a lot more SB rings on Hall Of Fame QB’s than not. Dilfer is the best example as that Ravens defense was likely the best playoff defense of all time. Only gave up 23 points in 4 games.

Edit: maybe the 1985 Bears, 10 points in 3 games. So add McMahon to my list of QB’s in the right place at the right time.

Thank you, the Bears were the other one I was trying to think of. Looking at the Dilfer led Ravens, scary to think that the special teams scoring was probably more than the defense let up that postseason. Pretty sure Stover kicked more than 24 pts worth in that postseason as well, while an aside to the original point it could make the case for kickers having some real value. Even in MA people forget those early Super Bowl wins weren't about Brady as much as our defense (not Ravens-esque but above average) and the leg of Adam Vinatieri. We won at least 2 of 3 and arguably all 3 from Adam.

I think in general you could argue too that the league (especially lately) looks more at offense and QB play than yesteryear which is part of it too.

Top of my skull Elway is a fun example. The first SB he did little, the second he was MVP. Haha.

Granted Brady got MVP in the first Patriots win, but did you know his numbers sucked? Under 100 yards passing until the final drive. IMO Adam should have been MVP..or Ty Law.

With all this crazy talk going on, I’m just hoping that the Eagles hit a lot of home runs this week. :D

You need a 3rd frame labeled ‘2032’ with a silhouette of ‘QB to be name later’.

Well, at least the Cowboys have won the Big Game several times. Buffalo, 0 and 4 in the Super Bowl.

NFL Network is showing the 2021 AFC Championship Game. (Jan 30, 2022)

The last play by KC inside Cincy's 10 yard line with 5 seconds left to the half resulted in zero points.

    Score remained 21-10 Chiefs.

Crowd noise will be challenging to avoid delay of game penalties for Cincy.

Burrows has to make better choices in sequencing his intended receiver selection.

It's easy for us to armchair QB him but he's a Pro and needs to make Big Plays under pressure.

Last year, he was just a second year QB making his presence known.

That loss to the Rams has matured him...and I believe he will be better for it.
