Normally I’m a big NO on that, but having the Pleasure Palace available does open up possibilities.

Well, I'm ready to pull the trigger on this new 4-season tent. I also already have a day off scheduled for that Friday, the 17th. Are there some people interested in camping Friday night? Some of you know this area a lot better than I do, so if you know of campgrounds or squatting grounds, speak up.

I have never really considered camping in winter. But, if there was a place near where we end up in February, I might be interested in trying it. The hard part might be finding a campground that is open year round. I think a lot of the state and federal ones are seasonal.

Yellow river is walk in (no reservations - you don’t actually have to walk) but it’s open year round for camping

It appears the National forest campgrounds are closed for winter. However, this is open:
Pigeon Creek Campground, Black River State Forest
3998 North Settlement Road, Millston, WI 54643

I see that Picnic point and Spearhead point on the Mondeaux flowage is open year round. That might be a bit too far north though.

It appears most state parks have portions that are open

Well, this is cool! It looks like there are plenty of options, as nobody else in their right mind will be camping.

Well, all this camping discussion got me to go back to the tent I was looking at and I found that Amazon had it in two color options. I had seen the orange option before, but never the bright green option, and for some reason it was $40 cheaper than orange. Turns out I had $41 in Amazon credit too, so... :spending:

It’s pretty warm inside an igloo. It’ll be a good project for teamwork

Dang beat me to it. Actually a decent video, I like their channel but at times it feels like an infomercial for the mega rich lol. I do dream of having a GFC and something like that Webasto heater someday…

LOL, are there lasers? Can that be arranged?
    upload_2023-1-26_13-35-9.jpg

We managed to get two trucks stuck just parking on the snowflake run last year. Was it last year? How many of these have we done now? Lol

All you guys talking about camping are crazy,… so I’m not sure why I’m even considering this. There were some really nice areas south of the Penokee range. I also recall some nice forest roads on the way to and leaving the echo lake transmitter site. Just talking out loud…kinda like an idiot saying something he immediately regrets

Guilty. Although I was apparently parking in a ditch at the time.
