Thank you! I feel like getting out today so that’s progress, probably won’t get much done but it’s nice to feel useful again.

Good afternoon, gang. It's time to wolf down a ham sammich and a cup of soup. It rained most of the night, it would have been one hell of a snow storm if it was 10° colder. Maybe the next one...

Congrats to your son on his promotion!:oldglory: The increase in $$ will be a nice bonus for his deployment. My nephew up at Whidby got promoted when he go back from his deployment. Better late than never, but you tend to get treated better as an E-5 than an E-4. Your shit detail list drops off considerably.

Oh, Guam, what a place. Great snorkeling and diving opportunities. The nightlife there is something! I've never been so drunk getting on an airplane.:drunk: The pilot actually stopped the plane on the taxiway to verify I was good to fly.

Thanks. Hahaha that is where parental ignorance is bliss. We are really proud of him though. He is currently with a work group who is recognizing his accomplishments. He was selected as Airman of the quarter twice and was just recommended for Airman of the year. Unfortunately he is still connected to a flight group here at Lewis McChord. His commander has been and still is being a pain in the ass. He held up his promotion and is now refusing to file the necessary paperwork for change of pay. Our son is up for re-enlistment but thinks he will transition to the Air National Guard in Hawaii just to get out from under it.

Sometimes with Guard and Reserve jobs, it is necessary to switch jobs, units, or branches' to progress because there is often very little movement in many units. You can be sure with active duty units things get shaken up every few years, but G&R units can stay stagnant for many years.
