Yup, I'm taking Amanda out to lunch both tomorrow and Saturday, I'm going to a cars and coffee at Gateway Classic Cars on Saturday morning before my date with Amanda, I'm going to a movie with my friends on Saturday night, and I'm going to the Philly Auto Show on Sunday! My dad doesn't feel like going because he has a leg muscle injury and he's worried about getting COVID again, and I don't feel like taking the train by myself, so I'm driving into the city and parking in a parking garage next to the Convention Center.

I only ended up driving it about 5,000 miles last year, so l guess the plan is to just keep miles to the minimum.

So, I already told @shakerhood about this; I was on Interstate 295 in New Jersey driving up to get Amanda, and I got pulled over. The speed limit was 65 and I was doing 75, and I saw the cop shadowing me. I legit thought I was speeding. Turns out it was "failure to maintain lane". I had apparently changed lanes rapidly and was touching the yellow lines.

Long story short; I was polite and I don't have any points on my license, so I only got a written warning... :D

Also, we were talking, and the trooper who pulled me over grew up in the same town where my dad grew up and both my grandpa and uncle were cops!

I also found out the hard way today that if you make out with your girlfriend in your vehicle in a public parking lot, nosy Karens can mistake it for having sex in your vehicle; I was backed into a parking space in the far reaches of a Lowe's parking lot not far from where Amanda lives. There were no cars nearby and I had a clear view out the windshield to make sure nobody was watching. There was kissing and groping, but no nudity and certainly no sex; Amanda and I were sitting in the truck cuddling at least 30 minutes after arriving when I saw THREE Lowe's employees walking towards my truck. I rolled down the passenger window, and they said that a woman had told them we were "doing something inappropriate".

I said we weren't, and they said they hadn't seen anything, but they didn't know if the woman called the cops. Needless to say, I wasn't in the mood for dealing with New Jersey LEOs twice in one day, so we got out of there. Some people drove past us in their cars, but nobody looked at us, so I have no idea who saw us (other than that they were a woman) or how they saw us. Nobody on foot came up to the truck.

The moral of the story is that people need to mind their own business!

Yeah, I usually mind my own business.
I’ve occasionally knocked on a window to make sure the person inside was still alive.
But I usually try to see if they are breathing first …….

Other than that, I walk by and mind my own business.

This is such a New Jersey thing. Doing 10 over the speed limit, get pulled over, cop doesn’t even mention it.

    TN isn’t too bad.
I’ve been lucky, I’ve never been pulled over for speeding….yet.
I know a lot of police officers, and I know a lot of speeders.
If you get pulled over doing 15+ over. You are getting a ticket.
10 over, maybe depending on the area. But usually a warning. Usually verbal, not written.
5 over…….Nahhh. That’s not “really” why you got pulled over.:boink:

Ha. Doing 15 over on the NJ turnpike you very well might get run off the road.

Driving in NJ is an acquired taste. Out of state plates tend to struggle. And NJ drivers do NOT hold back. It is not for the weak!

Although I will say, massholes might be worse. @ABA180 teach your peeps how to drive!

With the exception of the three Lowe's employees who showed up, nobody came up to the truck. Some unseen Karen saw me kissing Amanda and thought I was doing her...

95% of the time, I don’t pay enough attention to the people inside. Let alone in the parking lot.
