    I'll for sure take you up on that if the one on marketplace is shit. The guy selling is based out of the town I work in. But it's been stored outside without a fuel cap so I'm a bit worried it's gonna be rusty inside. If I can't get the bolts out or it's rusty what do you think it would take to ship one of those tanks?

    Do you know if an 18 gallon tank will swap neatly in place of the 16 gallon in my standard cab?

    Nothing wrong with the current tank, but a bit of extra range would be a handy mod.

    @Yota X

    Didn't realize I could go 'returnless refund' as I got a bracket for the filter only to realize it's for the smaller M-30.

    The M-100 kit uses an M-60 filter housing.

    Since I'm ok not getting $10 back to my card and just keeping it as a balance with Amazon, they say fuck it and let me keep the item so no hassle having to drop it off at UPS -

    Yeah if they are rusty they are garbage. I don't think it should be to much, I shipped one to Pittsburgh last year for $65 I'm guessing around $40 two states away. I'll have something me free time Monday to get it out if you want it.

    It will and I speak from personal experience. I'm running the 18 gallon on my regular cab. You just need the longer straps and the deeper fuel sending unit.

    Only thing I can tell you is avoid any 2 door Wrangler, buddy had one that was 98 i think? That inline six was a beast but the body amd roof started cracking from flexing it on trails. i think beacuse of the unibody design coupled with the lack of rigidity from missing the rear 2 doors

    Any quirks with the fuel gauge after doing that?

    Gas gauge goes higher than full and lower than empty but not by much.

    The engine is pretty solid. Like the 4cyl Toyotas there are a couple years where the exhaust manifold is known for cracking. The transfer case is bleh. If you wheel you want to do a slip yoke eliminator so you don't pull it out of the tcase and dump fluid. the AWD case uses a viscous coupling that's junk. The biggest con to the XJ/WJ late models is the interior electrics are generally shit. I don't know if the interior all grounds through the BCM but they're known for having issues with the gauges and HVAC. The Dana 44a rear in WJ is not strong. XJ could have Dana 35, Dana 44, or Chrysler 8.something rear

    There are some big pros. Abundant cheap parts. Bolt on long arm suspensions that have good geometry. You can wheel 35s or even 37s on the Dana 30 front if you have a touch for it.

    That Dana 44a is the dumbest fucking thing to have ever existed. The gear housing is aluminum, it deflects so much the lash gets fucked and they eat themselves. If you can find a D44a that isn't howling/grinding/groaning then it's already exploded. The D30 is named after the maximum size tire it should have and you know that. Plus side to using it is no one wants them so if you grenade axles or centers you can find another for free always.
