One thing no one mentioned about the unibody coil spring jeeps is that they rust around the torque boxes and the arms can rip out under intense braking or twisting in rocks.

 

Solid shell my dads interested in. But it’s got ALOT of parts I need that he doesn’t care about. So for $1800 it’s a steal.

this car will likely end up with my father as his retirement racer lol

I'm alive, and the T4R survived the 3+ hr trip home no issues so that was a big relief lol. Actually runs way cooler than my truck, maintained 184 on the highway and going up the grapevine (huge mountain pass/ elevation gain) it never topped 188.

It's got a Marlin clutch and flywheel in it and that fucker is going to take some time to get used to, it's like a feather compared to the OEM clutch in the Tacoma and engages right at the top/brink of stalling.... I'm not sure I see what all the fuss is about with those clutch kits lol.

Overall it's super nice and probably needs the rear main seal redone as far as major work goes. Few other seals here and there (CV axle seal, my nemesis) but that's looking like the biggie

Listed for $8k, got it for $7,250

Jshift 4wd hi/lo works great, will need some decent tires before I take it anywhere off-road. And maybe a lift. Maybe sliders. Maybe skids. Maybe...

So this was when I first installed suspension and tires, but before my rear swingout.

Removed a tiny bit of preload on the front Kings for...1 3/4" lift? And OME 906 leveled things out in the rear.

Same tire size you run now 255/85/16 Cooper ST Maxx -



Wasn't until I added the rear swingout with full-sized spare when I needed to switch to OME 890 coils.

 

$10k and the truck comes with them

 

So I need start watching for 1st Gen shocks again

 

I'm thinking 32s for this bad boy, I actually got all the way home on one tank of gas (took my truck a tank and a half to get up there lol). Want to keep it a little more travel friendly

Our insurance is only gonna go up $40 with the runner added on so fuck it I might as well keep the truck too, for now anyway

 

Told you it sips gas; shit every time you needed to fill up I was at half tank on the 4R.

 

And 87 octane

 

Honestly 10k seems like a steal?

 

It's got holes in the roof though

 

It's taking into consideration that it will rust to pieces out there in no time

 

Holes in roof > rusty holes in frame

but if it ends up out there it will wind up with both
