Yeah, that's where I'm at. I will try 275/70R17 next to see how they do before I look into re-gearing again.

For any of you doing the swap if you need a shifter let me know I have a spare. It has had the epoxy infusion mod done by the member Coupe.

If I may ask: What is "the epoxy infusion mod" done by the member Coupe...

Coupe could explain it better, but he drills into the lower bell portion of the upper half of the shifter and injects epoxy to ether repair the broken vulcanized rubber bond or prevents it from separating in the future. Additionally he does this when he shortens the shifter as well.
They tend to be a little more noisier the a stock one but less then a typical aftermarket shift (B&M, etc.)

I’ll see if I can locate the thread were he talks about it or maybe get him to reply to this thread.

Do you have a spare to the new RC62F or the old Ra60F? I didn't think they were interchangeable, but I could be wrong.

You are correct they are not interchangeable. I have spare because I bought another one and had it modified by Coupe again.

Fantastic ! Thanks.... that gives me some ideas... I have a FJ Cruiser T-case swapped in and its (isolator portion of) shift rod was cut off and a new section of rod welded on with some bends to make it all fit in my stock shift console. With that section of isolator removed, it throws a fair bit of sound into the cab that is annoying.

Is it the standard shifter or the TRD ss that you have? Am debating between the B&M or Core/Hurst and from what I've heard the TRD molded by coupe is great( but he doesn't have any).

To my knowledge they did not produce a TRD SS for the 3rd gen tacoma. It is a stock shifter with Coupe’s epoxy mod done to it.

Got ya. Thanks. I really like the new B&M with what appears to be a split shaft coupled with an isolator medium like the OEM toyota one. Wonder what the difference in height is...

    My shit is all stock.
I am currently running the core/hurst shifter for the third gen truck. It does make some noise. Other than that, it is firm and solid. No mush to it at all. I do wish that TRD made their own version for the third gen truck. I was extremely happy with my TRD shifter for the original transmission.

Speaking of that, I’m tired of tripping over my original RA60F in the garage. If anyone here knows of someone who would be looking for one, please let them/me know. It’s got about 98K miles on it and works fine. No damage to the quill or anything like that.

finished the RC swap, I've already done about 15k miles on it.. There is a Vibration that's annoying since the install between 1700-2100 RPM, only when the driveline is loaded accelerating or decelerating, but gone if I float the gears.. Seems to be just 3rd, 4th & 5th..
I did install a URD heavy flywheel.. is there a resonance vibe in that RPM range the engine and flywheel not balanced together? Bad Transmission? hate to put the factory flywheel back on but still the same.. It's tolerable but annoying, still worth the swap..

What’s the status of your carrier bearing and u-joints?

zero Issues there, I checked them and greased them, the shop that cut it and balanced it said joints did not need replacing ... But I will take the Driveshaft off, drive in FWD see if anything changes.. and tripple check the joints/carrier..
I did notice, that if I press the clutch, and RPMs dropped from say 3000 to 1500, that vibe is present as the revs go pass 2k or so..
So it does it at times..
Sometimes it doesn't vibe at all going through the gears... weird

Let us know what you find... am getting parts located and about ready to start this mod here very soon... am planning on replacing the 180k mile stock flywheel with the urd heavy as well. Would love to know if they're presenting with issues before dropping the money on one. Good luck isolating the cause.

I feel like the rubber is somewhat separated from the housing, or is than normal? pushing up you can see the rubber off the metal... Dealer part is $400 Canadian and month away, any recommendations on a good aftermarket?

Any driveline shop can find parts. I have done that a couple of times. They can rebalance the shaft too. That will be a good thing to do.
