VEry nice...Gonna do my skid plate. Since my silver TRD has the unpainted fender flares and non color matching I would bet the badges would look good blacked out..Maybe even the chrome grill surround..

I never thought about doing it this way, very good idea and write up! This is on my list next and I can sell the extra black emblems I bought awhile ago. I never got around to switching to black emblems since I was concerned they would not go back on and or stay right. This idea solves both! Rep +1 for you sir.

If I had color matched fender flares I would definitely consider plasti coating.

Gonna do the skid plate today....and hope it doesn't get out of hand,

Does the Plasti-Dip hold up well to sunlight? No fading to gray? Anybody have longer experience with it?

I could only find one can of it so far, this stuff is hard to find in Vancouver...think it'll be enough for all my badges and the front emblem @ 3-coats each ?

    Does Plasti-Dip count as a mod ?
Just bought three cans at Lowes. I'm gonna do the badges and rear bumper. I may go ahead and do the chrome grille surround too.
I'm also thinking of doing the stock TRD wheels. Total effect blackout.

One thing I need to find is something to black out the white raised letters on the stock Rugged Fails. I can't afford new tires just yet.

Do the tires have rasied white letters on both sides? If not can you just remount them black side out?

^^ looking for a cheap way to do it.
I'm gonna try some dye or paint on the letters. No cost other than time.
