Those toolboxes are great...I have an actual drawer toolbox with dividers at the shop and 2 or 3 of the fishing tackle divided boxes at home

I still can't find the parts I need when I look for them...but it looks more organized

    Whole lotta stuff
I need to organize my parts by project, I have two ongoing rifle projects in cardboard boxes. Especially with parts that look the same, but are for ar15 vs ar10.

My parts are all in an old ammo crate in seperate baggies and boxes. I forgot what I have all the time and end up buying stuff and realizing I already have it.

...and then I eventually realize what all I have and say "well all I'd have to buy for another build is..." and the process starts all over again.

    LOL!

I seriously do this all the time, but one can never have enough parts. Especially with how the political climate is now.

When I moved a year ago my parts were separated into 3 locations now I am getting them and the related tools all back together into one easy location

I remember you telling about that. Was jealous when you found that ammo.

Coincidentally I found a box a 357 and a full quick load strip this week. Score! 357 is not cheap now. I wonder if ammo is ever going to go down to what it was.

I keep hearing people say it has. I think if you buy in bulk online it has dropped quite a bit but not if you buy in gun stores. All the 556 I saw in a gun store last week was $16-$17 a box that’s still pretty high and it wasn’t premium ammo

Depends on the "when" you are comparing to. When I got my first SKS ($125) and Norinco milled AK ($250), me and a buddy would chip in $25 each for a case of 7.62x39. Those prices are long gone. In all honesty I don't see prices dropping much below where they were at the end of 2008, when we saw case prices jump from $99 shipped to $250 shipped in a span of about two months. I truly envy the guys I knew back then that were ordering by the pallet while I could only order by the case.

ahhh the good ol days. My buddy bought an SKS for $100 back in the mid to late 90s, and left it to me after he passed. He shot one round out of it, and it still has the original wooden stock and a leather sling. I'll have to dig it out and see what the make and model is, but not sure if I will ever shoot it. I bought some cases when 7.62x39 a few years ago when it was about $0.20 a round, today it is $0.40 for steel case cheap stuff. I have an AR I built in 7.62x39 for a cheap farm and hog gun, of course those days are gone.

So I have a registered SBR lower with 5.56 upper (11.5"). The caliber noted on my stamp is 5.56.

Can I slap on a 300BO upper with 11.5" barrel and be GTG? No new stamp?

Or does the fact that my stamp notes 5.56 prevent this from being legal?

    Appreciate any input.

I am not a lawyer nor is this legal advice.

My lawyer told me to register my SBR for the shortest barrel I plan on running, I bought a 7.5” upper to slap on it once it was approved, he said that BATFE doesn’t care if it’s longer than what the form 4 says, just shorter.

I just run what I want to, my 7.5” 556 form lower has had 11.5” 12.5”, 7.5”, 13.9”, and everything in between. Never been checked, don’t think there’s a fed locally that cares about what I do because I’m not using it in criminal acts.
