    Just grabbed my 2nd set. Love them. Thought about trying the Goodyear Ultra Terrain, but know the Duratrac's are great and the Discount Tire guys opined they're much better.

    Of course, I've seen many threads/posts about 'weak sidewalls', by people with little to no first-hand experience. Not saying they're impenetrable, but seems most posts are just echoing stuff written elsewhere.

    I love the tires but I do have regrets. That's only because, evidently, they have stopped making them in my size (315/75-16). Recently had to replace one tire while the other 3 have plenty of tread left. Now I'll be riding with one mis-matched tire for a while. Actually, this is on my son's truck, but I pay for it.

    @jcampbell474,

    Thanks for the shout out! We appreciate your support!

    @MKW,

    You are right about (315/75R-16) being discontinued, hopefully they come out with a new and improved version, like the Duratrac II.

    I'm on my second set of Duratracs and will buy another set if I keep the Taco long enough. FWIW I don't get nearly the mileage out of them as some here do because try to only use the first 50% or 60% of the tread. I do that regardless of brand because that is where performance starts to degrade. There is always somebody out there willing to buy the takeoffs.

    Thats nice to hear. I was so happy with the tires I have on now. Lasted 92,000! But I cannot find anyone in my area that stocks them.

    I have 0 regrets. I just pulled a nail out of mine a few hours ago. Plugged and ready for action. I'm estimating about 50k miles on them and going strong. Wheeled in Arkansas (super lift ORV) Tennessee (Wind rock) and Oklahoma, without fail.

    The rumors about weak sidewalls compared to most dedicated MTs are true. Shouldn't be any surprise since they are designed and marketed as an AT not a rock crawler MT. If you wheel long enough in areas with basalt, decomposed granite, or tight forest trails with sticks and staubs you will eventually cut a sidewall. No biggie, cost of doing business.

    Very good tire for working in the bush where I can run into mud rock ice and snow all in the same day.

    If I was on road more in the winter, I would run a dedicated winter tire for better ice performance. Because I'm off road often, I get my Duatracs siped. 235/85/16 E

    Also run studded duratracs during the winter as my truck is on bush roads most of the time.

    Thanks everyone. Just got them on today. The shop guy was joking with me about how bald my old tires were and was surprised to hear that those were the original tires.

    Ran two sets on my 2004 4Runner and loved them! They were great in so many different conditions. Considering getting a set for my new Taco but I can hear my grandpa in the back of my head chastising me for taking off a pair of perfectly fine tires. o_O

    I drive off road a lot in mud and wet conditions in deer hunting applications (logging roads). The Duratracs perform much better in mud, than the TRDOR OE Goodyears (with Kevlar). The OE tires are adequate but I was always afraid of getting stuck, no winch. The sidewall tread on the Duratracs really bites well in muddy ruts. I wish I could get Duratracs as factory supplied. I also upsized to 265/75/16 and increased ground clearance 1/2” with no rubbing under any conditions.

    I'm on my third set of 265/75/16s, 230k miles on the rig. They last around 50-60k, in my experience. Best tires I've had, they air down with great grip off-road, and perform on-road great as well. I've never had issues with the sidewalls that some gripe about. I've driven all over the US/Canada, and in many desolate places without any issues. This will continue to be my tire choice for the future. 0 complaints.

    Okay, I'll bite. What is Canada number #1 in and why would you take them off in the winter?
