Now I need a longer Whip antenna! Just tried out a mic/system check with @Ross4x4
15W midland picked him up off of Usery while I sat in my truck on Idaho n Main

They are generally sold as +db antennas. The stubby is like a +3db and the taller is the +6db. I have both, both work great.

Ive got the stubby on it now and was surprised to pick him up. He wasn't able to hear me back?
Should work better out in the field rather than in a small neighborhood.

That's the Antenna I run as well. Having it higher up defiantly helps as well. I should have defiantly been able to t pick you up from such a short distance. I'm guessing the metal rack on one side is blocking some signal

That sounds like a good slogan for a beer company.

If you want warm beers that are all shaken to the point of blowing the top off, just leave them in the bed in the box they came in.

In all seriousness, it's a cool idea for a SEMA build, but I don't think it's practical. I'll keep my super expensive cooler with trail (bear) proof latches and be fine with it.

Definitely one of the best mods I've done as well. Haven't had to replace the rack since. Before, I would blow out the bushings.
