Yep. Those old cab mounts are really on there!

Figured might as well go all in. See so many posts of people having to redo CMC's because it wasn't deep enough and I only want to do it once.

Is that a 2×4 being used as a jack extension?

 

I have jack stands under the frame. The jack and 2x4 are just lifting the body up slightly get it up off the body mount.

 

Cab Mount Relocation. I am opting for the CMC, or Cab Mount Chop...

 

I have CMC plates also but said F it.

Not my best welding work, but what a pain to get at. Specially with the huge gun on the miller 350P im using at work. I definitely need more practice on out of position welding.

I did smack it and say "that's not going anywhere" so I'm covered!

I just did the one side today. I'll do the other tomorrow. Had enough crawling on the floor for one day.

 

I actually went down a particular rabbit hole recently of a 3 link front/4 link rear set up and something similar to Ox lockers (cable-actuated).

Would 37s be fantastic? Yes. To do it right, would I need another mortgage? Also yes.

 

How long it take for this side? Thinking this is a full day kinda thing... You torch it off?

Used the plasma cutter to get the bulk of it off, then cut off wheel and air hammer with a chisel, and a final clean up grind. One side took me about 6 hours. And that's about my limit for laying on the floor is.

 

6 hours seems like a really long time for that

 

No kidding! I’m thinking an hour, two at max!
