    1) The fact that Tesla and some Leafs aren't using the same charger is what I am calling out. So it is not a standard. There should be. If you want to fast track EV ownership, offer the fastest charging standard available to everyone.

    2) I think you meant "not" a surprise? The trade off in towing capacity for the amount of time spent charging is not worth the effort. Which is why I would rather have a Tacoma vs an EV equivalent (for which there is no apples-to-apples comparison at this time). And don't forget the cold. Sub freezing temps significantly alters EV range, the same cannot be said for ICE.

    3) The cheapest Model 3 in my area is in the low $40k, with tax credit minus $7.5k so you're closer to $35k. As I pointed out, the value is in your daily commute. But for $35k, I would rather get a loaded Camry or Accord. Because if I decide to take a long trip, I won't have to plot out charging stations and if I am going into the cold, it won't affect my range. So to me, the only value I see is if I want a quick car. And I wouldn't bank on a Model 3 or a Leaf for that. For me, it would need to be P85D territory. And there are other toys I would rather spend my money on.

Negative, I'm riding this Titanic to the bottom. I've grown up with blown jet boats and hot rods and it's in my blood.

...^^^... My ex GF had a new 2017 Tesla Model S -- P-100 D, the big boy and it required maintenance. Maybe a $135K car new ?

However, It was like driving a rocket (on acceleration) with sub 3.0 seconds to 0-60 MPH :burnrubber:

...^^^... He is still a Toyoda family member. IMO, it was done for political reasons to diffuse the EV situation that the senior was not a a fan of.

Toyota will still do well. I am more concerned about Toyota going to smaller ICE's with turbos like Honda. Not for me.

Not a turbo fan for the long distance endurance.

There is nothing on Earth that doesn't come with some kind of trade-off... and worse choices as our population expands.

Tell me there hasn’t been a governmental figure that stands to gain from EVERY policy that’s even been put out in recent history. They all have their hands in the cookie jar when it comes to energy, agriculture and pharmaceuticals. FDA USDA EPA…stake holders head it all.
