If you can find them instock..... I was unsuccessful and bought 5100's. I tried multiple times from BAM and ToyotaPartsDeal....order placed and then canceled by them due to non-stock recently.

I have the Headstrong progressive AAL that I hope to install all of it(including 5100's and ECGS clam shell bushing) this weekend if my back allows it.

OP, if you do the lift, do the ECGS clamshell while your at it. My 2023 only has 500 miles, I'm only lifting 1.5" and I'm still doing the bushing because I've read enough stories to know the problem is real. Pretty easy while it's all apart and WAY cheaper than doing the bushing later.

In LA, all the dealerships near me are quoting insane prices, from $3000 to $5000 for the kit and installation. Because of that I'm thinking of just getting a replica TRD grill from cartrimhome for $120 and using the rest of the money saved for an aftermarket lift kit with AAL for the rear.

There's a huge thread on the TRD Lift kit that will keep you occupied for hours if you read it. In it you'll hear some debate on the ride quality after the lift and whether or not a block lift in the rear is any good. Also some people faced vibration issues after installation which the dealerships would resolve to varying degrees. The cheapest route I've seen if you want to go with the TRD Lift kit is to buy it online for $1305.40 from BAM (sorry won't let me link it) and either install it yourself, find an offroad shop to install it, or call around to dealerships and ask them if they would be willing to install a TRD lift kit that you are purchasing separately.

Good luck! I too am a new member and new Tacoma owner and there is a wealth of information on this site. Just be patient and don't make any quick buying decisions. You might change your mind several times while reading these forums.

Thanks for all the input everyone! The dealer/salesman said they had no room to haggle on the kit. At this point I am just going to drive it stock for the first 36k miles. I plan to use the truck for work travel right now I'm averaging about 47,000 a year. Once the warranty period is up I am going to go with something a little better than the OEM TRD lift got plenty of time to research and figure out which direction I want to head. When I do my lift I plan to do the ECGS bushing upgrade as well.

Alright if I do the Bilstein 5100s and blocks on my new Limited. And I keep the stock grill. Will have to get anything recalibrated? I got a mechanic shop who does lifts. But I am worried about my radar cruise etc. not working. I am new to Tacoma myself bought mine in December.

I got quoted $3060 at a Md dealer for TRD kit installed. Thanks.

If you have a warranty (like I do), it is a cry once moment (if you want to) to pay roughly $3K for the kit+install.

Heck, I'm riding on my OEM Tires until I get 40K miles on them before I consider new tires.

I had some Bushwacker Fender Flares installed so doing the TRD lift and then going to 275/70R17 with SEMA wheels would suit me fine.

Yes I agree I get on here and look around. Then I want a lift, tires and everything thing else.
I need to just drive it for a while and enjoy it. To pay 3 grand for a small two inch lift kit seems excessive.

I did an OEM TRD Pro grill with stock suspension with zero issues on my 2023. Many have done the TRD lift and kept there non-Pro grill without issues. Most folks think "recalibration" is a myth. I can't count how many lift I've read about of varying magnitude with zero issues with the TSS. $2K installed seems to be the sweat spot for what is considered a decent price for the TRD lift. $3k seems to be high. Since you wanting to use your OEM grill, I recommend 5100's set to 1.55" and a 1" block in the back. It will make it a little more level but keep a little bit of rake to make it even less likely to have an issue with the TSS.

There is a large thread on the lift kit here. It may answer some questions.

This is good advice. I have been pricing out the 5100 kit with blocks. Yes I would like to keep my OEM grill I have a 2023 Limited and I like the grill it has. A lot to decide.

Like most, I spent some time deciding what lift to do. I wanted to do mild to keep maintenance issues minimal, reliability high. Here's a link to a thread you might find that's a helpful comparison between stock height, 1" and 1.5" of lift:

3k and above is def too much for TRD lift kit w/ install. My dealer does it for 2.7k. Used to be 2.4k but they just raised the prices on the kit and labor.

I thought Toyota says that the TRD lift kid on a long bed is a no-no?

I work at toyota and haven't heard about this. I've got the TRD lift kit on mine and I have the long bed. Over 3.7k miles so far and no problems thus far.

Willing to bet the adaptive cruise radar needs to be calibrated for the height off the roadway and the angle at which it points.
