If they have a battery back up and even one has a low battery - you will get a chirp alert. If this is the scenario I'd advise replacing any batteries with Lithium types which will last for years as opposed to yearly replacement. When they come new in the box, smokes have a bonnet to go over them to keep them clean if they are installed in new construction while crews finish the home before move in. I've seen a single dirty detector give false chirps or alarms. If you're trying to find out which alarm is the triggering unit for any reason; unscrew and unplug one unit at a time. Wait overnight (or even longer) to see if the false chirps stop. When you find the one triggering- blow it out with clean air, replace with a new battery and see if that stops it.

It used to be that smokes had long warranties and would last a long time. But like all things electrical, most only are warrantied for less than a year. Some other things that can give false alerts are cooking. If you have a unit close to a kitchen it is advisable to switch that one to a photoelectric unit that is less prone to false alerts from cooking.
Lastly, if all units are not the same brand- that will give false alerts. Since they are interconnected via the red wire in the 3 wire NM (romex) wiring; they will not "talk" to each other correctly being different brands.
I'm an electrician/contractor, if you have any further questions- please feel free to contact me.

Morning- off to work. I have a Peds office that wants to switch from paper towels in bathrooms to air dryers because people keep flushing them and clogging the sewer. I'm never surprised at stupid the general public is.

Good morning folks! Food giveaway this morning so we’re up to get a few chores done hook up and get going. They normally don’t take long an we are doing a drive through this morning which is probably good I didn’t sleep all that well last night my people skills might not be on point this morning. My throat is still scratchy and sinuses are draining I slept a little hacked a little and repeated all night.

I really enjoyed Longmire. Beautiful country in Wyoming but man they had a lot of murders for the “least populated county in the least populated state” lol.

    Good Morning Folks :hattip:

Weatherman say 4-6 in of snow starts later and until tomorrow morning. I'll get some quality seat time on the 4wheeler.

Today's plan is mix up some venison breakfast sausage meat.

My wife still cuts my hair. I wanted it done last weekend but I didn't make an appointment :notsure:

    Morning all

Contractor quoted me $1200 to put in one door. Pre-hung steel door cost $250 at HD

So my cheap ass is going ro try it by myself. The ground is at a slant and is prone to flooding. So I will soon regret my decision.

With my limited experience I'd say shims and a level are your friends.
