I won’t buy them again. I commute on the interstate @75mph each day and these tires suck for that. Offroad? They are some bomb ass tires. Long lasting rubber, but they started cupping at 30k miles and started getting bumpy. It’s probably because of all the high speed miles though. I’ll buy these again for an off-road rig, but as for an interstate commuter, I’m going back to ATs for my next set.

The day has finally come and I would like to thank all of you who posted pictures and reviews here. I did literally months of research before making this decision and the g003’s are on the truck. I was torn between another all terrain tire and these and I believe I made the right choice.

285/75/16 g003’s mounted on 16x8 Black Rhino Stadium wheels, -10mm offset. I have a 2” RC spacer lift up front (in the process of saving up for bilsteins, don’t hate too much) and Icon AAL in the rear with the overload spring reinstalled.

    Initial thoughts:

These tires seem amazing. Road noise is basically identical to my General Grabber ATXs (all terrain tires) that these replaced, so I would call that “very quiet” for a mud terrain. I was really worried about the noise, having never run MTs before and because I do alot of highway driving.

The tires just went on the rig yesterday but I do not foresee road noise being any kind of issue. I remember one person a while ago posted in this thread that he had to get out and check to make sure the tire shop put the right tires on the truck after he drove away, because they were so quiet. When I read that, I assumed he was exaggerating but he was not. If I got into a truck and just started driving without looking at the tires, I would assume these were just an all terrain tire based on the road noise. I was literally giggling as I drove down the road because of my relief at the (lack of) road noise.

The ride itself feels solid and smooth on wet/dry pavement. I was able to test both yesterday. I came from 265/75/16 E-rated Grabbers, so there isn’t much difference in the ride quality because the Yoko’s are obviously also E rated and only about 4 pounds more per tire.

I think everyone is already sold on the way the tire looks, but I can confirm it is a badass looking tire. The 285’s are a true 33”, and actually the only true 33” I could find in a 285 and they really look amazing.

I have only done a day’s worth of driving on these so far, but I did hit a variety of speeds including highway speeds. I have a few cross country trips planned for this year so I will post a more long term review, probably towards the end of the year. I hope this info is helpful to some people, here are some pics:

They’re smooth and quiet when new, but after 20k miles they start getting loud. I’m at 45k now and they are super loud lol.

I do travel interstate every day for work too, so that may be a factor. At moderate inner city speeds, I can hear the lugs slapping the ground. They are probably the loudest MT I've ever run and I've tried them all.

Really?? Wow that’s interesting. I think that’s the first I’ve heard someone call them the loudest but yeah I’ll be doing a lot of highway travel with them as well so I’ll see if mine that loud. I appreciate the info so I know what to look out for in the future.

Mine are also cupped as well. I do have a lot of miles on them for an MT as well.

    Thank you for the input!

How often do you rotate them? And, what pattern?

I have over 30K on mine and they're still pretty quiet for an MT, and I don't see any abnormal wear. My driving is mostly highway/weekend warrior.

I still think they're pretty quiet for an MT. I rotate them every 5K in a Z pattern so that every tire changes direction of rotation every time. Maybe I'm overthinking it. But, my last 4 sets of tires have worn excellent.

I rotate every oil change, around 7.5k miles. Cross rotate and front/back rotate every other time. They have worn nicely until about 30k, that’s when they started cupping.

I try to do rotations every 5k. It's easy to math to know when its time for a rotation and more frequent is better. (as in rotating daily would be optimal, but ain't nobody got time for that!)

Same. I'm changing the oil every 5K anyway, so I just rotate them while I drain the oil.

Yeah mine will be rotated every 5K as well so I’ll update on any unexpected wear or noise if any of that does happen.

Im at about 15k miles on mine. Still seem pretty quiet to me. I rotate every 3k or so, but also rotate in a spare so I guess thats less miles.

Mines are at 12000 miles and they are still pretty quiet. I first had them at 35 psi but noticed they drive and feel better at 40psi. Rotation is key. I do mines every 5K so I will be due for my 3 rotation soon. As far as handling, I will say they are good on everything but light rain. I already slip few times on light rain so keep an eye on that.

Adding a crawlbox will help drown out some of that noise.
    So I've heard :p

Well despite really loving these tires, I have decided to go back to my 265’s for now because of MPGs and braking distance. It was a really hard decision because these tires are outstanding but I have a couple of cross country trips planned for this year and it just wouldn’t be smart for me to do them on the 33’s when I have a perfectly good set of 265’s in my garage.

Here’s the link to the for sale thread if any of you guys or gals are interested:

That’s one of the reasons I don’t go 33s In any tire. What tires are you going back to? Yokohama has a 30 day satisfaction guarantee with no questions asked. Just return them to the dealer you purchased them from with Yokohama return form.
