Look at how my truck flexes out. It has the variable breakover option.

With the mindset of many today, trying to give advice has a high likelihood of just biting you in the ass. Gotta pick your poison doing business.

Can someone remind me what the consensus of tightening play in the upper ball joint was? Do we need to drill a hole in the cup to get to the set screw?

You’re gonna have to push the joint out, drill a hole and push it back in then adjust. My one bitch about this setup is you can’t adjust them in the cups as they come.

I just figured that out. It’s not the end of the world but it would be nice to be about to adjust on the truck.

can you not tighten the play with the joint out and just put it back in? No drilling of the cup required?

Out of curiosity, when you drilled your hole, did you leave it open or plug it with another set screw?

I have not drilled mine yet. But I do have to adjust them so I will probably mess with it at that point. You could probably find some small plugs to just push in to keep dirt out.

What does everyone think a rough mileage would be for spring break in? Trying to figure out how long to give everything before I lock in my alignment.

I did an alignment with everything new and leveled the coilovers left to right. Then waited about 5000 miles. The alignment didn't really change when I got it redone... I don't think there is a set time frame. They just settle as time goes on and you use them.

Lock in your alignment now. Measure your ride height one way or another. As the springs break in and settle you can adjust preload to get back to where you were when the alignment was perfect.

In my experience, they don’t really stop settling. They claim a spring never loses its carrying capacity but I disagree. My last set of 650’s on my mid travel were straight clapped out and I was adjusting them every year it seemed. Just get it aligned if you’re happy with ride height.

I’m more worried about the rear. If the rear settles a ton when the springs initially break in and I have to lower the front to match I didn’t want the alignment to suffer then

HD70's with an added leaf. Sits too high but at least I have enough spring. I'm going to pull a leaf out, which was the magic sauce to pull, #3, 6?

Question for the group, specifically anyone who has done the JD inner fenders. Ever since I put in the inner fenders I've been having this reoccurring issue.

If the engine bay gets wet (drive through a big puddle, take the truck to a car wash, etc) the windshield wipers kick on full blast and I can't get them to turn off. Eventually they stop themselves but it takes awhile. I'm assuming I pinched a wire or exposed a circuit somewhere during the install but not sure where to start. Any input is appreciated!
