Will the 4th gen be built in Mexico? Will the truck be built at both Mexican assembly plants?

Being an entirely new vehicle, I don't think there is any carryover from the previous Tacoma. How do people think the new gen Tacoma will fare?

What is the success rate for other NA auto manfactures launching a new platform that is built exclusively in Mexico?

Would the launch of the new Tundra been worse or better if Tundra was produced in Mexico instead of San Antonio?

^Along with corny ones like the GR Hilux with paddle shifters. Evidently there will be a lot of shifting since the redline is at 4200 rpm...

Ummm, odds on bet the redline is 4,200 RPMs because the tach in question was photographed in a diesel engined Hilux. Another odds on bet is the gasoline versions will have a redline north of 6,000 RPMs.

This truck would not exist if it wasn't for vehicles like Ford Ranger, and other midsizes in the global market place.

    1. Put a damn remote lock solenoid on the Tailgate so you can lock it with the key fob
    2. Stop having the front body mounts encroach into the wheel well
    3. Seal the truck bed better for people wanting to put campers in them
    3. Reinforce the truck bed from factory
    4. Make the headliner more “patch” friendly :amen:

I’d be fine with some paddles on the wheel. Don’t always want to keep one hand on the shifter. Esp in the mountains

I believe the 4th Gen is in the last trial stages, it shouldn't be long now, but lets not get too exited yet

What exactly is the thinking behind why the 3rd Gen will, in theory, be the shortest generation?

Slightly redesigned? It’s a completely new truck on a new platform. New frame, new body, new suspension, new drivetrain (for the Tacoma) new interior.

Only so far you can with a 6 speed autotragic from 20 years ago and a minivan engine, and let’s not forget worse mpg than a full size truck
