Win drought yes, appearance drought 1/10 the time. It’s because of what came in between that I’ve come to appreciate what it takes to get to and beyond each level of success. Even when you are good there are other good teams vying for the prize. We all know of great coaches and players that only got so far and no farther or seasons that ended with a mistake. One niners quest for the Super Bowl ended with a Roger Craig fumble to the Giants as we were running out the clock in our end of the field. A first down or two more plays and a punt and it’s game over. Instead one of the most loaded teams with the GOAT of that era fell short.

 

Crap, now Kelce is hurt and questionable. No, I’m not making excuses ahead of time. These teams when healthy are an even match. I know Burrow is 3-0 vs Mahomes but they all have come down to the final moments and if they play each other enough, they’ll each beat each other several times in the next decade. I want to see both teams at their best, like the Chiefs/Bills thriller last year.

Agree. The playoffs are usually pretty good while a lot of Super bowls are over hyped.

Agree! I love the parity. I saw a list of what the playoff seeds would have been if every regular season 1 score game was reversed. It was amazing. Broncos were in the playoffs and my Chiefs 6-0 division record would have been 1-5. The best teams still rise to the top but there are more good finishes than blowouts. Hope for the same today and 2 weeks from now!

Last week was a bit disappointing with only 2 tight games, but I’m fresh off last years epic divisional round (3 last play FG’s and then the Chiefs/Bills OT classic).

Those are rightfully the favorites but really anything can happen now. Play these games several times and I think you see several different outcomes but they only get the one chance today. So far the better teams have advanced but it’s no longer nearly as clear cut so it’s going to come down to coaches creating situations and players making plays. Given how the niners got here I like our chances but it’s an amazing situation nonetheless. Going to be some really happy and really sad fans come tomorrow.

If I were betting, I would pick props and not spreads or money lines.

I think it is Eagles-Bengals, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see Niners pull it out late. I think Purdy’s inexperience finally bites him late.

 

Holy hell. That "comedy" bit in the pregame show was terribly unfunny.

 

Inexperience! He was a 4 year starter in college.

I’ve got some props, I have a bengals bet from before the playoffs I’d like to win, but I’m not heavily “invested” in this weekend, lol
