So I recently got a job where I'm driving some vans i.e. Ram Promaster 2500/3500s... I have to say, at the end of the day, getting into a tacoma feels like getting into a sports car... It's...odd...

My scan gauge will register anywhere from 13.5 up to 14.2... And my truck started at -2 this morning with no issues.

The old radiator hose was getting a little soft. Trucks got about 183k miles and I've never changed the coolant ever since I got the truck new. So I ended up changing out the hose and changing out the coolant for the first time ever

That's a long time to go on original coolant! Have you had any water pump or thermostat failures?

Wired up the Matt Gecko LED kit, it's super bright and an easy install. Well worth the $80IMG-6386.jpg

Also finished doing a complete oil replacement on the truck. I definitely think it was the first time the oil in the diffs was replaced, but it all looked good. Put Redline in the transmission and T case, and it shifts a lot smoother now, too.

Installed an Alpine ILX-507 with iDataLink Maestro and a new USB 3.0 and HDMI port. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, programmable steering wheel controls, retains backup camera, etc. Probably the best upgrade I've done so far.

How's that wireless carplay? I've seen a few gizmos that supposedly work, but the reviews usually say the connection is kind of sketchy.

The wireless Android Auto has been flawless. I can't tell any difference between the wireless and the wired connection. I'm sure CarPlay would be the same.

    Very nice! Looks great!

I just recently installed a new Kenwood in my truck about a week ago and CarPlay is a game changer. Did the maestro as well.

    Install wasn’t too bad

Added a shifter extension, doesn't feel like you're reaching in the floorboard anymore.

Well got the leaf springs swapped. That was a PITA and no where near as easy as replacing the last time. Also, got Decked moved from one truck to the other and planted a few plants as directed by my wife. I’m tired!!!

Nice Kenwood! I found the install to be quite a bit of work! I installed my GPS antenna on the passenger side corner of the dash. I was trying to fish it through a small hole, was about to depin the connector, but then realized I could just pop the A pillar off to get the room I needed. I disassembled the lower dash under the steering wheel to run the OBD cable and microphone. Then I had to remove my center console so I could remove the lower dash below the climate controls. I removed one of the 12V accessory outlets to install an HDMI and USB 3.0 outlet.

The harness for the Maestro wasn't too bad to hook up, but the instructions were a bit lacking. I was able to figure most of it out myself, and iDataLink was prompt to return emails with some questions that I had. Lots of the cables don't get used. It would be nice if they labelled them so you could sort through it easier.

Where'd you get the TRD battery hold down from?
