I've got a 2019 made in Baja. No issues with it other than the fuel pump recall, which fortuitously started acting up on the way to dealer to get it replaced.

    None of the above!
Mines a 2016, got it in October of 2015
    123k miles on the truck!
Stuff like tranny shifting weird at high speeds doesn't bother me, eventually getting the OTT tune because everyone raves about it!!
Had the rear diff fixed on a recall, same with 3d brake light
Battery lasted close to 100k, replaced it not because it gave out, just didn't want to be in the middle of nowhere when it went!!
Wipers lasted about 50k, the originals :)
Been a awesome truck, no complaints!!!!

Freaking awesome to see 18 pages of mostly positive ownership experiences from 2016 right thru current model years , sure brings things back into perspective , it’s really easy to think that the 3rd gens are all problematic when in reality it’s the exception to have major issues , not the norm . 2018 SR5 , regular upkeep, couple of recalls , still love it

Worst thing for me was the 3rd brake light leak. Was pretty messy.

My rear spring pack after putting an Rsi camper deck system and full spare and now they are wavy and flat. Gonna upgrade anyways but saw an issue with gen 2 and see if they will remedy later or refund future owner with a major recall

    Trans TSB, which helped decently

biggest issue was a radiator leak out of the bottom passenger side of the radiator. I don’t off-road or do any crazy maneuvering, so not certain how that could’ve happened. Bought nice aftermarket unit, spent a couple of hours to replace the unit and all is well now.

85k miles - 2016. Most of my miles were in years 2016-2020

My truck will be bone dry and this happens. Like the felt is holding water below the rubber blade. Possible from carwash?

    1. Multiple CIL's/codes thrown - Multiple limp mode events and then truck inoperative. Towed to dealer Fuel pump malfunctioned (replaced by fuel pump recall).
    2. Multiple CIL's/codes thrown - Multiple limp mode events. Broken ACIS shaft in air intake Plenum, killed No 2,4 and 6 ignition coils. Plenum assembly and coils finally replaced under warranty (resolved after three trips to dealer, pointing out cause of issue myself to service department)
    3. No#3 Spark plug loose, more check lights/code thrown. Spark plug replaced under warranty
    4. Edge of driver's front headliner popping out of upper door frame molding. Just dealing with it by pushing it back in place.

Same here with my 2021 SR5. Coming up on 30K miles already and it’s been flawless.

My last post in this thread was back on page one. I'm happy to say not much has changed. Less than 3 years of ownership and I've added about 80k miles to it.

-I have a little rust in my door sills that has a TSB that wasn't covered so I'll likely be fixing that myself.

-I had the 3rd brake light replaced, but no signs of leaks prior to the recall being done.

-I had to replace the battery back in September while on vacation. Based on what I've heard from others, I'm impressed at how long it lasted.

-I've been using Woolwax every year and it's hard to tell if I'm getting good results, or I just can't see anything because dirt has gotten into the Woolwax and is disguising any rust (except on my hitch receiver). Either way, still looks good.

-I replaced the windshield after getting a crack. But can't really blame Toyota for that one.

-At my last service they advised me there was some oil in a place there shouldn't be oil. Next service will determine if I possibly have a timing cover leak, or if the oil was accidentally left by the previous tech.

-Still have the original brakes and plugs although I believe both are set to be replaced next service.

-I believe the noise I referred to in my original post is actually rubber trim that's probably looser than it should be and causing noise over bumps. But that's not covered under my platinum warranty so I'm just dealing with it for now.

-Randomly I'll have the sunroof fail to close all the way, almost as if it detects something in the way and backs off a bit. Thus far I've always been able to just play with the buttons a few times and it goes back to normal. Not worth mentioning to the dealership since I can't consistently replicate it and it doesn't happen often at all.

-Occasionally, particularly in spring, my AC will smell very musty and moldy. It goes away with more regular use of the AC. Never had that in any other vehicle. I've seen a few threads which mention cleaners for it but it's always a temporary fix. I just let it do its thing.

Pretty safe to say everything I've had was either expected or very minor, except the potential oil leak. Time will tell on that. But if it is the timing cover, I believe the platinum warranty covers that.

I now have 57k from brand new 3-13-2017.
Premature failure of the upper driver-side serp belt roller, so I replaced it and a new serp belt.
The rear passenger side coolant pipe shows a leak with the pink crust. I read that the newest coolant will solidify when exposed to air which it has and hasn't dripped, yet.
The third brake light leaks under the touchless car wash and will get that done later, I have to remove my shell.
