I just relocated closer to them ; we are now in Winter Haven..

Publix is the best grocery store. They have great bogo deals that change every Thursday. They also have a nice app to keep track of sales.

 

I've found Winn Dixie(at least where I'm at)has some things a lot cheaper than Publix. Publix has gone downhill the past few years. Use to be you'd never find an out of date product on their shelf, now you'd better double check.

 

Only reason i go inside publix is to take a dump.

I use my local independent grocery, farm stands, maybe aldi or winn dixie.

If you are in FL and you're buying produce from Publix, you're not smart.

 

Walmart or Publix. Walmart produce is def best, best selection on most other items. Publix close second with produce but "higher end" products in the store.
Winn wasnt the best when i went in there the handful of times but they did have decent produce. i havent shopped there in like 5 years.

Produce is pretty good at Publix, why not smart? haha
Aldis was the worst store i ever been in. Horrible lol

 

I've been inside walmart maybe 4 times in the last 10 years. Two of those were to buy ammo..... You couldn't pay me enough to eat food that came out of that place.

Aldi has cheap milk and eggs, maybe a couple frozen things. I've got a half dozen farm stands near me that have great local produce. They're all over FL. I'm not going to pay Publix middlemen to ship stuff from Mexico or CA.

I'm probably not the average consumer though. We eat seasonally for the most part, which saves $$$. I also can all my own shit. Buy in bulk when things are in season. If I don't can it, I can also dehydrate it. Haven't bought store ground beef in ages either. Gross....

 

Aldi (at least up here) is good for cheap canned food.
Generally, I shop at a local meat store because prices are good and they carry random items you don't find in popular chain stores.

Farm stands is definitely something I will check out too.

I'm going to be in Florida next week. Can't wait.

First thing I'm doing is exchanging CT drivers license for FL and registering my truck asap to get Florida plates .

 

Also get your CCW, took me 10 days to get

 

I would never buy meat from Walmart, can't count how many times I've seen meat sitting in the returns cart warm knowing it's going back in the meat dept.

 

Already got my license to carry as a non Florida resident . Just need to change my address once I get there.

 

Permitless carry should pass next session....

 

I made it but Taco was definitely struggling towing U-Haul trailer through mountains of south west Virginia. I drove through Fancy Gap I-81 to I-77. Weather was warm so no snow, but wow, some inclines were really steep.

 

Trying to get settled in , Haines City was a "Bust" , lady decided not to sell the day of closing

We did find a home but we are now in Winter Haven

Anyone have the new hideous green Sunpass sticker? how are you blocking that from outside of your truck? I hate stickers and this bothers me how green it is, stands out. I was thinking of getting a black strip of vinyl on the outside of my windshield and hiding it behind it on the inside. The instructions to the sunpass say dont cover it with anything. so not sure if thats true or not

 

Buy the suction cup version and take it off before you get out to admire your sticker free truck.

 

We have two of these just for that reason...Tundra's hides up high enough to not be seen and the Corolla had that dark strip up high to hide it also...

 

Plus, every time I put one of those permanent Sunpass stickers on, my windshield gets cracked by a rock. I've probably thrown at least 5 away over the years.

 

i have it int the dark spot on my tacoma. It was more for my other VW and CRV. I was thinking if i need to put on the windshield i can just throw it down on the lower part of the window. not sure if that would work. so ill test it out

 

Newish to Florida. Does anyone know of a great shop in Central Florida that installs lifts, alignments, etc.?
