    Update:

Just swapped the throw out bearing at 85k. My best guess is that it saw some water from wheeling. I need to tear it apart to verify.

Front diff LH CV shaft seal leaked at less than 17,000 miles.

LH wheel cylinder blew out at an ORV park at less than 21,000 miles. Had to get a ride from friend in a Jeep to a nearby O'Reilly's for parts and fluids.

My gas tank door is warped somehow and keeps bulging out despite not being hit, no accidents or frame damage. I read about this somewhere, but it is super annoying. I have to keep bending it downward to ensure the tabs don't hit the body when closing it. It's bizarre...

Ya. Not happy with the Tacoma. This is my second 'Taco. I hope nothing else goes tits up on it. I think I've had enough failings with it.

Try putting some wd40 on the fuel door hinge every few months

Did you also read it's caused by lack of lubrication on the fuel door hinge? My dealer sprays white lithium grease on fuel door hinge as part of oil changes. "Lube" part of lube, oil & filter.

Yes, I have been spraying it with WD-40, but it keeps bulging outward and shifting up. It is also really difficult to manipulate/bend.

^Yes once the hinge rod is bent out of shape, it's difficult to get it back to the original shape.

Simply put, the strips are trash. EVERY single time is rains (or snow melts) and then it drops below freezing over night, my windows are frozen to the strips. I have to run a knife between the window and felts, back side of the blade so as not to damage them. The Tacoma is the only vehicle I've owned that was made in the last 25 years to ever have the windows freeze, and it does it at least once a week in the winter.

And it will bend again a lot easier since the material lost strength the first time.

get leaks coming from the a/c system when it's running hard in high humidity on the passenger floorboard. it appears to be condensation.

i took it in to the dealer and they put some sealant on it. it reduced the moisture by 90%. no more drips but sometimes will feel a bit wet especially if i'm running the a/c with the window cracked which is probably not the brightest idea.

    No real problems.

I did have the FP recall and I was one of the few owners that actually felt a difference it was starting to stutter...........

None of my mods have gone south either.

But I'm just getting to 20K miles now in 2023. We usually drive other cars around and well the the turbo Honda CR-V gets 35mpg on the highway with our short trip junk in it (but that thing HAS had problems, like AC dying)

2018 4x2 Dbl. Cab, Long Bed 3.5L V6: Error code P11EC at 36700 miles. Nearly $7k in repairs due to Cylinder 1 issues. Luckily covered under warranty, 20 days to repair. Then before hitting 37000 miles the super white paint flaking along the entire drivers side rear door. My second Tacoma, not happy, don’t enjoy it as much as my 2nd gen. Will be replacing it with another Subaru.
