Still out of my range (no pun intended, ha) for the S or Plaid.

    BREAKING: @Tesla
has reduced the price of the Model S/X in the US:

    • Model S: $94,990 (from $104,990, 9.5% drop)
    • Model S Plaid: $114,990 (from $135,990, 15.4% drop)
    • Model X: $109,990 (from $120,990, 9.1% drop)
    • Model X Plaid: $119,990 (from $138,990, 13.7% drop)

Knife to the throat of the super car market. Mad respect to the S Plaid, but personally I also don't want a car that large. I prefer the more compact sportier platforms, especially in a Tesla with such ridiculous storage. I'd certainly take the performance and range numbers though.

Also every Tesla forum and group right now is blowing up bad with serious angst. Like:

Gave the car a quick wash today since it was sunny and nice.

The rainbow trim issue has returned.

Hit it again with WD-40. Hopefully that lasts another couple months.

Also got this email from MyQ. Apparently I wasn’t the only one dissatisfied with the service.
    2DA58903-0CFC-4E4A-ACCD-9E0659D7FE43.jpg

Still not going to pay for it, but I’ll take an extended free trial.

The other day my phone appeared to brick itself in the middle of the night after an update. Awesome. I tried to hard boot it with no luck and used the backup keycard for the Tesla. Of course it would be a day when Tesla had errors with MyQ and couldn’t close the garage. Sigh. With my phone as a backup also dead, I had to get out and do it manually and bring keys to get back into the house since neither the car or the phone would be able to open the door. This wouldn’t be an issue with the HomeLink system. Definitely going with the HomeLink add-on. For the phone, it turned out the hard boot procedure had changed and I was performing the incorrect one.

    OK, unfiltered opinion here.
The color is awesome. Killer. Badass.
The wheels make me want to puke. I know, style is subjective. But I think they might have even made 1980's Dave puke too. I can't even explain why. I get the weight shavings performance aspect but still. The aero wheels on a car that hauls ass, it's like turning a porsche into a prius. Sure, you squeeze a tiny bit of performance and range but you mortgage the sex appeal to get it, knowwhatimean?
Especially compared to the classy taco wheels you have.
    Anyway, carry on.

Admittedly, I’m really not sold on them either. I bought them by the numbers. Lighter than stock, better aero than stock, increased efficiency and extended range. But eh. I really like the looks of the OEM 20” performance wheels and have been pondering a second set for all seasons next year. Granted tire sizes for that wheel are very limited.

^^ Yes. This is the only wheel I like on this vehicle. I think it looks fantastic.

I do love how much of a hard liner you are on the numbers. I get it. But damn, man, sometimes it's more than just numbers :)

Sometimes you gotta be a pioneer and just try it. I thought maybe with the custom powder coat color it could be pulled off. Wasn’t as inspiring as I hoped. Kinda like the brakes were not as weight reducing as I hoped.

We took the plastic aero wheel covers off our Tesla Model 3. Stock rims look great on their own!

Reactivated a new 30 day trial of myQ after getting the additional invite. According to the activation, it sounds like you only need one subscription for multiple Tesla vehicles, which could make pricing far more attractive vs the HomeLink add-on module.

In the right light the Red looks pretty dazzling. My wife wanted Pearl White which was in 2018 extra $$$$. And that's what she got!

I haven't addressed it yet. Somewhat torn between adding glass coverage and waiting for it to crack, or filling it and leaving as is.

Ah, I *misread* a crack had started.

I'm in the same situation with my Tacoma. I have a fresh large divot in the low center of my windshield. I'll probably fill it and see how it works out.

We have glass deductible waiver on our Tesla, used it twice already unfortunately. My Tacoma windshield has a large divot that is starting to crack.

I just discovered that the bottom buttons on screen are user configurable to make your own shortcut controls. :anonymous:

Unfortunately the option set is limited, and doesn't include fog lights, which I wish it did rather than trying to navigate multiple menus to turn them on while driving. To swap them on the screen, you just press and hold the icons on the bottom and it will pull up an option set for adding new ones. The defaults were all apps, I'd prefer vehicle controls, specifically the ability to defrost without using menus.

Do you know of any accessories out there to map physical buttons or switches for controls? This is the only thing that has bothered me about their design. Could be something as simple as dimple.io that connects to Androids via nfc.
