SF O-line played well against Dallas which has a formidable pass rush. For some reason on the sack Purdy was injured SF had a tight end blocking Reddick which was an obvious mistake. Josh Johnson hit was also unfortunate resulting in an injury. SF having the season they did is a credit to a very talented team. A 3rd string rookie QB winning 6 straight, that's impressive. Whoever SF has at QB next year, they will be a force!

 

WTH game were you whiners watching? Each team had 1 defensive PI penalty. Each team had 3 holding calls. Each team had 1 PF (KC taunting, Cin roughness). The only difference in penalties were three 5 yarders in the first quarter on Cin (delay of game, false start, illegal touch on the punt) and then the intentional grounding late in the game.

 

It’s also a scheme problem. Shanahan’a offense like to put a different player in a different role that is normally seen in an offense which creates confusion. Those lead to injuries. Take Lance and Deebo for example running down the middle like their RB’s. Before Lance was hurt, they ran like 70% plays of him running in that game, he was bound to get hurt.

 

If you think the final “penalty stats” are all that matter, you’re a fool. The entire world besides KC fans saw how one sided the game management by the refs and the impactful penalties were. Wether it mattered on a specific drive or not it affected the game.

I’m not saying it was rigged and I’m definitely under the opinion that Cincy shot themselves in the foot way too many times against a team like KC, but it’s ridiculous to deny that KC didn’t get SOME benefit from the refs and the way the game was managed. Period.

 

The 49ers are a good team so why can’t any of their fans accept that the Eagles were the better team? Hungry dogs run faster.

 

I feel bad for Purdy, out all season, likely won’t get a shot to get a look at a starting job again.

Yeah, the commentators mentioned that blocking scheme mistake. Changed the whole game...early.

I thought SF's defense could keep them in it and 3rd string QB do somewhat well...that went out the window.

As any #1 Defensive Coach will tell you, if his team spends a lot of time on the field with a #1 Offense, they're bound to get tired.

That tired-ness leads to frustration/mistakes--which cannot be coached/controlled.

That huge/tall/300+lb SF Lineman just threw down that 200lb Eagle defensive guy like he was a doll...I wondered what 200lb defensive guy said to him to cause such an outburst?

That bench clearing put a sour perspective on the game.

As for the Cincy game, those 2 INTs by Burrow were definitely overcome-able. I could comment about the officiating but the result will still be the same.

Out of the 2 games, the NFC Conference game was more disappointing...all because of an offensive blocking scheme error.

 

Chiefs didn’t score on any drive with a Cincy defensive penalty except the final push out of bounds (announcers confirmed was legit call). Only one Cincy offensive drive was stalled on a judgement call holding. Oh yeah, KC had a TD called back on an offensive holding call. Yep, I’m a fool for not seeing what the world saw with those refs making bad calls that swung the game. My bad!

Well you did call me a fool so what did you expect? I did read it, you said one-sided and impactful and I rebutted.

BTW this is a ‘trash talk’ thread and all my posts are simply having fun. I’ve lived through 48 years of Chiefs winning 4 playoff games pre-Mahomes. Time to enjoy while it lasts.

 

I said you’re a fool if you think penalty stats like “5 penalties each” is a stat worth looking at.

 

Just not seeing any one-sided impactful difference when looking through the list and what eventually happened on that drive, other than the clearly valid calls. Now if there were more ‘non-calls’ that benefited KC I can’t confirm or deny that.

 

Got some feels going on today, I see.

Ha! I’m a great winner! After 5 decades of post-season crap (only surpassed by the Browns and Lions) we have a great team. Anyone that gives credit to the refs is gonna poke this bear!

 

This will be the first Super Bowl that there will be brothers playing for opposing teams. Chiefs TE Travis Kelce and Eagles Center Jason Kelce.

 

The only other I can think of is between coaches (the Harbaugh bowl). I wonder if a Bosa Bowl will happen in the coming years?
