Looking to buy this truck, concern with clutch...

I test drove this truck tonight and it's in pretty good shape for the year, my only concern is that when I let out the clutch pedal, I have to let it WAY out. is this a sure sign of a bad clutch or is there a chance I'm just not used to it and every vehicle is different? He'd take $7500 currently and i am having a hard time justifying the price but if it needs a clutch also, it might be a deal breaker altogether :/

clutches are easy to replace and not that expensive.

 

Just what are "Fabtech Fox Shocks"?

I know clutches arent expensive, but the truck books lower than his asking price already, if i have to spend another $300 on repairs, it's not worth it for me.

He said it was some "joint venture" between fabtech and fox but i dunno if he knew what he was talking about, he did ship them off to cali to be rebuilt recently though

 

Try to talk him down?

its true, fabtech contracted with fox on some of their lifts to have the coilovers made I believe.

 

I would say it's not a surefire sign that the clutch is worn out. I wore out a clutch on my 86 toyota truck and the pedal feel never changed. I have a brand new clutch in my 06 and the pedal has to be let out probably 3/4 of the way before it grabs. I'm pretty sure there is an adjustment under the dash that you can use to change the feel. I know that was the case on the pre 1995 trucks. Don't think the first gens are any different.
