That's a possibility. The large panel for the back of the 36" island was damaged on 2 corners, if the allow me to keep it, I could use that.

Or a scrap cutoff from a filler strip. Have to be creative with options.

I always use planted gables , bring them to front of door / drawer plane , on the end of your L I would run it from floor to top of cabinet boxes

That would also cover the small expansion gap when I install the vinyl plank flooring.

I honestly did not realize the little ol' lady who owned my house since it was built in '65 was a smoker. When I looked at the house it smelled kinda odd, but more old, vacant house like. It was when I moved in it became more apparent. I don't mind too much, it's just I have to add a step to my painting. I will say this house has been nothing like I have seen before though as far as nicotine/tar build-up. My house down south was owned by a smoker and I didn't have to oil prime everything. I'll have to talk to the previous owners daughter to find out what she smoked, as this stuff is friggin' nuclear!

No that would be me... I mean what...

Part of me doesn't doubt this. She was a character from what I understand. Mother's friend actually worked with her way back when and she was a definite fire cracker...

I read about a restoration of a 1940's trailer that was used as a backyard card playing room for about 50 years. The fellow had to scrape the nicotine goo off the birch paneling in every inch of the coach.
He wore a haz-mat suit and an industrial respirator. :puke:

Good evening gents. I spied something too good to pass up yesterday on the marketplace, an early 2000's PC model 347. I had one for years before liquidating almost everything during a divorce. I'm happy with it, especially for $50. It looks and runs like it sat way more then it got used.

I have the exact same saw , brand new in a case that I bought about 10 years ago to replace the same saw when it wore out . Long story short , the original saw still works but it lasted so long that I moved on to Makita 18V cordless circular saws , then Makita 18Vx2 and now Makita 40V max

Did some drywall repair (electricians left some big holes), some canned spray foam insulation along the floor and measured & cut those long (112") wedges/shims. Did a quick test dry fit and everything is pretty close and can be leveled with minimal shimming. Room also slopes to the center, so the front shim is 1/2" taller than the one against the wall. Back is 3/8" to 1 1/4" and front is 3/4" to 1 3/4". Good times! I'll lay everything out tomorrow and glue/screw those long shims down and hopefully get that run installed. Pics are of the far right cabinet set in its rough position and it's pretty darn close to the 34.5" level line on the wall.

That drain setup is definitely giving me anxiety.

If you're hooking up the plumbing, you're gonna need an add-a-vent.

Plumber will take care of that hot mess. I'm cutting a 4" hole in the bottom of the cabinet for that mess. I'll need a little extra room to get that cabinet into the proper position.

The bathroom off the kitchen has a pedastal sink with same setup....drain pipe straight down to the basement. I've not yet looked to see if there's a trap down there.

    :notsure: :lalala:

My old house was like that. There was a trap in the basement where it connected to. I remember re-plumbing that section as the old galvanized was all gunked up and never drained right.

My current house has a whole house trap with an access fitting. But each fixture still has the proper individual trap.

    That's definitely a unique setup...

Might be nice though, any time I open up the plumbing in the house the gasses from the septic system are lovely :puke:

I actually got to do some more drain plumbing in the Spring. The sump pump goes right into the main drain and if the water table ever gets high enough for it to kick on I know darn sure the leach field can't handle any more water  The water softener drain is in there are well, that's ok, but they ran the flex drain hose almost 40' to it and it's kinked in some spots. So I got to run an actual PVC line back there and install a trap.
