Easy way to make your exhaust pop.

Okay guys, this is my first write up on a small mod so please dont bash.
Fun facts about the subject. A exhaust pop or popping upon deceleration is cause by free gas igniting in your tail pipes causing the noise some truley love. However, all you need is a screw/nail either or and super glue.
Step One: you want to take your screw and or nail and find a clean area on the interior of your exhaust tip about 2 to 3 inches deep.

Step Two: after finding your best location glue the head of your screw down to the bottom of the tip. Remeber 3 inches deep Max or this will not work!

Step three: after screw is glued into the inside of your pipe make sure to let dry.


The point is while your accelerating unburned gas will build up on the tip of the screw insted of flowing out. after enough build up, when you decelerate the screw will be the ignition and it will back fire nicely. I have it on mine and it sounds great with duals!

I used super glue and it hasnt failed me yet but im thinking if i wanna keep it mabey use jb weld

 

its right at your exhaust tip

 

I just put it deeper so its not noticable

the 3.4s have a NICE draw back.

Stay at a constant MPH, start to slow down ever so slightly (better to let the truck decelerate), and at the right moments shift to a lower gear using 2 or L.

Usually best when the RPMs are just high enough to leave it in the current gear but drop them suddenly and the engine will gurgle and maybe give a nice pop.

They do it to there cars but use golf tee's. I used screws because they seem more sterdy.

 

You can tell it gives his car alittle pop but hes not running a taco either

 

meh i liked my old truck better .... 2.5l 4cyl mazda with a 2.5" catback and flow 40 ..... popped and was decent sounding

 

My old sonoma pops pretty good with the 2.5L and a cherry bomb. Sounds terrible when cruising though lol.

 

yea im on the fence if i wanna cherry bomb or flow 40 my 3.4l ... i deff wanna put bigger piping on it but havent done much research yet

 

my 2005 GTO used to pop nice! it was more of a rumble when downshifting

Yeah don't cherry bomb it, it'll sound terrible. And also larger piping will probably hurt power if you're not boosted.

 

i had the 05 with the LS2 6.0L

miss that car sooooo much. Not practical at all though...

 

5.7 Liter with dual packs lol sounds badass and pops like crazy
