Yeah. Hub spacing was going to be my next question.

Evil is another one that it uses super boost. I think Devinci as well. Or some dh bikes.

Haha! I do have a grip 36 170mm just chilling right now.

if I may expose my ignorance, I have a question about Carbon Rims on a MTB.
Are they resistant to rock chips and damage from the hostile terrain many rims and tires are exposed to?
Does the performance over alloys truly justify the expense?
Weight reduction and rigidity I get, but are there other plusses?
What would you say are the biggest reasons to upgrade from alloys to C's?
Trying to catch up on all of the tech updates that have passed me by in the last few years. Your collective patience is most appreciated....

Haha. We were having this discussion earlier.

Quality alloy rims will beat cheap carbon any day. However. If you're particular about your riding and want a stiff wheelset that's gonna be true for a while, quality carbon is the way to go. If you can justify that cost for it, then you won't be disappointed. Granted, with all my hard charging, i still put in rim protection in my rear wheel. But out of my two bikes on carbons, i have yet to untrue them or destroy them in any meaningful way. They also have strong crash replacement programs usually.

That said, if you're just a casual rider just looking for a quality ride without breaking the bank, get yourself a quality aluminum rim, no question.

Aluminum likes to bend and give which makes them untrue and get bent out of shape before being unusable/unfixable. Carbon likes to stay true up until they're going to give way. Then it's a spectacular bang.

This is not true at all. Maybe twenty years ago when Spinergys were all the rage but we've come a long way since then.

Carbon can bend and come back into shape better than aluminum (to a point of course) and is quite resistant to dents.

Bought and installed the Raceface tailgate pad last night. It was strange as I was messing with the positioning to get the backup camera to stop beeping at me for 15 minutes and couldn't get it to stop, then when I got in my truck this morning to drive to work, no beeping...... looks great though as I was using my dad's Evoc pad he had on his ridgeline and it covered the camera and he wanted it back

I worry about wind and road vibration and road dust between the pad and the paint. Looks outstanding though!!! curious to hear your thoughts post use!

Yep! I love the rack, I knew I wanted a rack for Kayaks and I don't like the look of the straight-up racks like the Thule design. Got super lucky finding this one as a guy with a Tacoma was selling the whole setup for 900 bucks so the side bars came with them, I wouldn't have bought the side bars myself, but now I use them every time to bungee cord the bikes on longer trips. Probably overboard with the pad now, but I used to just use a blanket over the tailgate as a pad. I've used them a few times to tie down other things but overall wouldn't pay 200+ for them but they do look cool

right on board with that. I got my OH after a huge issue with Auto Anycrap, and then finally Etrailer when everything was nonexistent. didnt pay full price, but I suffered for trying to chase the deals. The sides are very interesting but as with most Yakima stuff its exorbitantly overpriced, but well beyond others in build quality and apprearance. I have fishing kayaks as well which required the extra heft for the rack. I got people up there in NH too..

Yeah the price was initially scared me off and then the bed rail kit was out of stock so finding it on Craigslist was a godsent. The build is great I know I either wanted Thule or Yakima, as on my old pilot I had some Thule Stackers that lasted 13 years and could fit 3 large kayaks on there. All the Thule stuff for the Tacoma is kinda ugly...... I love NH, Pawtuckaway is my favorite spot to kayak/camp but I am biased as it's in my hometown

Not sure about Fox but when i can't rebuild myself (like if it was a Float X2), I send my shocks to a buddy in Boise that can turn them around pretty fast. https://www.thebumpstop.com

For where we live, Hardtails are dope. I got the stand and all the tools, come on over and we'll build you a bike! :bikewheelie2: I prob ride my Sirius like 5x as much as I ride my Sentinel.

With a 170 fork, I see a hardcore Hardtail in your future! #FTBSled

Don't tell me you don't have room in your basement for a N+1, I seen't it!

Looks good! Only complaint I have with a tailgate pad is the shuttle rash on the down tube of the bike. Got a Yakima tailgate pad and was unaware of how they can rub away on the downtube - my old specialized stump jumper had a nice blemish at the contact point. Since then I put a microfiber cloth between the downtube and tailgate pad to help offset.

I’m sure other brands are better padded, but now I have a Thule gator pro in the truck bed and try to keep any contact points off the frame.

I have a guy that does repairs near me and he was more than willing to help me out. But the shock is less than a year old and needs the full rebuild so decided to go the warranty repair route through FOX.
