@Benjy what do you use your lathe and milling machine for? (saw it in another thread)

 

Ours too, every few months I have to take it apart and clean it out.

 

Teach me why I can't just use aluminum to make a wood burning brand vs all the others out there made of brass.

 

I use an electric razor.

I read over what Drew linked, I was going to say heat is the biggest thing with aluminum. Too hot, it'll melt.

 

Since I can't seem to make heads or tails from reading various threads, I'll ask here.

I thought so, too, but aluminum has a slightly higher melting point than brass.

 

Maybe it's how quick it heats up........I really don't know

Was just looking at this milling machine and the input says 230/460V. It also says 4 pole. We have it wired 3 phase. Can it be wired single phase 220V?

 

Figures. I looked at the Fahrenheit for aluminum and Celsius for brass.

 

Screw it.. I'm gonna use the 6061 I already have vs buying a chunk of brass.. then I can mark my steaks too!
