Hey guys, Noticed my wheel come VERY close to the caliper. Paper thin in between. Should I be worried?

Mostly electrical shit that nobody cares about.
Yeah, I would be a little bit worried.

But what are you going to do, return the rim or something? lol

    Cheap. Easy. Wheel spacers
But the offset of the rims are a little off

Wheel spacers are going to be your cheapest way to go. That being said, DO NOT buy anything except for bolt-on hub-centric spacers. The thin plate spacers are dangerous af.

Maybe touch the caliper lightly with a grinder or even a file by hand.

Spidertrax or Bora Hub/ Lug centric wheel spacers are the fix here. Anything short of that is asking for potentially dangerous failure, including leaving it alone as currently is.

Are wheel spacers safe? I’ve heard bad stories of them breaking.

Hub centric like bora or spidertrax is fine. I ran Boras for 100k with no issues at all. I even stopped checking the torque during tire rotations after a year or so

That being said, if you've been on those wheels for 10,000 miles and there's no scratches on the caliper you're probably fine

Thanks man! After I just lifted the truck it looks like the tires are farther under the body now. Might get some anyways.

I don’t see an issue.. if it clears, it clears.

I did have a issue with brake pads actually rubbing on some wheels back when I used to be into lowering Volkswagens and being a cool kid. took a grinder to the pads and made clearance and never had an issue.

Well… if it hasn’t touched by now I don’t guess it’s going to…just mighty close

    run a correct wheel

I wonder what the best spacer is and the name of it. I’m guessing it’s those blue ones I see everyone run.

Idk about these comments on safety. It bolts to the hub. The wheel bolts to it.
It’s literally recommended by reputable companies like Archive and Accutune when running rear shock relocate tower.

and, 6 lugs is a lot. As opposed to 5

Not my truck and I don't have to drive it, but, the clearance between the factory wheel and caliper on my 2015 sport is .025. I would be concerned.

If it clears, it clears. If it starts touching in the future your wheel bearing is probably going out. I have about that much clearance with my methods on my ‘07 and maybe a smidge more on my 2019 Tahoe that has a factory big brake kit. Definitely wouldn’t do spacers for this!! Rather grind the outside of the caliper a little bit, but imho not needed in your case
