Is there a way to knock down the sheen of paint? I Raptor lined my camper shell then went over it with oil base satin paint and it came out more semi gloss than satin. Is there a way to tone down the shine a bit?

In seriousness, is a repaint in the cards?

I was thinking that stuff would soften the paint? Guess I could try a test piece.
No, repaint is definitely not in the cards not right now anyway. I was actually thinking the white(fine) Scotch Brite

If you scotch bright it you are literally sanding away the shine. That may be what you want but recognize that you have permanently removed some paint and it's possible it may never be able to be corrected.

Second point, non-glossy paint is a nightmare for maintenance. Surprisingly it shows scratches and scuffs WAY more than glossy paint. Satin, matte, flat, etc all are a surface finish and anything that touches that changes the texture of the finish.

If you want a satin or matte look I would consider having it wrapped or coating it with plastidip. I expect plastidip glossifier (which is FAR less glossy than automotive paint) will give a nice satin look. It is also 100% reversible and even protects the paint.

I like the wrapping idea but I don’t think you can wrap a textured surface
