Tonneau Cover and Bed Liner Recommendations

I just purchased a used 2011, 4x4, SR5 package. It has a factory bed liner but I kind of wanted to upgrade to a sprayed in liner - probably Line-X but would consider others. I called the local Line-X and they said that they don't do Tacoma's unless you special order a steel bed. I tired Rhino but they didn't answer. Any recommendations would be appreciated - I was thinking about just getting a good bed mat to go over the basic liner that came with it???

I also want a Tonneau cover - willing to spend $500-600. There are so many options - 2-fold, 3-fold, etc. Since I don't have any experience with any of these I would love some advice.

I use the Fold A Cover GS on my 2011 DC. It works great, also with a pop n lock, it secures the Bed.

 

if you want a hard tonneua i got the undercover one and love it....alot of other members have it too.

 

A bed mat is a must-have and much cheaper than a spray-on liner. With the plastic bed, you really only need to keep things from sliding. The OEM one has done a great job for me.

I also second the Undercover tonneau suggestion and I believe there may still be a few for sale on the forum. It keeps thing locked-up and can easily be removed when an open bed is needed. My 11 year-old helps me remove and re-install mine. It is not waterproof, but I only get a little water in one of the front corners - even in car washes. I doubt you can find a totally waterproof one.

 

I am really happy so far with my Access Limited roll up tonneau. I need access to the full bed with what I haul. A hard tonneau would not work for me.

 

There isn't a bed liner in the truck. The actual bed is made of a fiber composite material. Most people just put a toyota bed mat or deezee bed mat in for some traction/protection.

 

undercover all the way. installs easy and it comes off in 2 min. you can do it alone and it comes with hangers that screw to the wall. i have two, they lock and dont need paint.

 

x2 on the oem bedliner.

 

Bed mats are really nice to keep stuff from sliding around in back; I used 5' wide roll of stall mat for mine... $25 from Tractor Supply and about 1/2 hour to trim it around the wheel wells. There are nice $100 bed mats available from Toyota if you really have to have the Toyota symbol on it.

I can't see any reason for rhino-lining the composite bed. Would serve no purpose I can see.

I got a tri-fold soft tonneau: it self-stores to carry tall stuff, and is really easy and light to remove for big loads. Roll-top tonneaus generally get rolled up and never put back out because they are such a pain to work especially in cold weather.

Hard tonneau's are the most water tight, some more than others, but are hard to take off and store for large/tall loads.

I've had luck with the Access roll-up tonneau. Had it on a Tundra since 2002, with only some fading on the vinyl, but the velco is still holding strong. Actually putting a new one on my 11 Taco this afternoon, if you want some pictures of that it could be arranged.
