That was a Ruger rebarrel. I don’t do it for a living.

Nope. Either replace the motor with a single phase, get a phase converter, or a VFD.

I have actually had this happen ’TWICE’… I’m old school where we were even pre ratio… (ala 13R75/135 - Go polyglass!). It was always an X pattern until these newfangled steel belts. When X change occurred, the rotation was reversed and would shift enough that the belt would commonly separate on a relatively new tire. Imagine what that does to that wheel opening? Especially the back end of a pickup where in front the wheel is a standoff brace for the bedside… and behind the wheel is essentially the same thing. Yea, flat tire, damaged and mangled bedside and probably some joyous driving at byway speeds on your new slick race to flat!
I KNOW tires are much better now and have multilayer belts that extend into the sidewall… but no thank you. I will front<->back unless expressly told otherwise. I also change tires in pairs.

At UMO everything 3 phase was either 120/208, or 277/480, with a few random 550v buildings, those buildings were few and far between(thankfully!)
Now I’m there rebuilding part of one of their subs, their “high voltage” is 4160/2400, which is relatively rare in our system. We’re building their capacity to 1000 amps! I can’t imagine how much money they’d save if they converted the system to 12,5/7200.

Funny you posted this. We have a pretty young guy (21 I think?) on my end of the shift. I did this the other day to break free a bolt on a 15hp motor and he looked at me like I was a Wizard. Told him "that's why you got to listen to us elder Millennials"

I've always crossed. I think it might actually be in the owners manual for my '08.

What's even more funny, is this is not how you use an extra end wrench to become a leaver.

Interesting, in the oilfield alot of our sites are feed by 4160. And then stepped down to 480/277 to run everything else.

All of the new "super pads" are fed by 12.5/24.9 though.

Yeah, I keep seeing that. Most everyone around my age out here has a house. Some of us are on house #2 or 3 even. must be a city dweller thing I suppose.

My cousin who does government work came to visit a little bit ago from Africa said most his friends and relatives all seem to have settled in and bought houses in their 30's. Bought this house last year at 32. I have a distant cousin who is a couple years older than me buy a house about 10 minutes from here. Seems we all settle around the same area
