    As some may have forgotten, the phrase wasn't just "Remember the Alamo" but "Remember Goliad, Remember the Alamo" I believe that quote was from Sam Houston. Ahhhh, good ole Texas, the only state that teaches it's history. I think I took Texas history all the into middle school.

    I went there. It was very interesting but wanted to see tumbleweeds, didn't realize it was across the street from the river walk in the middle of the city. The tree & big goldfish in the water channels were pretty cool. Getting to know the history was the best.

    I wish now I had gotten two to keep the little guy company and entertained more but I do a pretty good job keeping him busy.
    Have you posted up pics in the dog thread? Never can have enough dachshund pictures there are few members here who have them too. :thumbsup:

    my wife considered taking nursing school back in texas. a prerec was texas history..funny.

    being californian she didnt even understand a course teachings a state's history.

    I've taken Georgia History as well, as Texas History, because they were required courses.

    As far as the Alamo, I was also very surprised, when I walked around the corner, and there it was lol, right in the middle of town. Pretty cool to actually see in person though.
