So hard to keep up! But the subject matter changed every page so just skip to the end and jump on in to the conversation. I miss those days too! So many shenanigans.

We purchased a used Class C 2016 Winnebago Minnie Winne 22r 1.5 years ago, it's built on a Ford E350 Superduty chassis with a 5.4ltr V8. 8-10mpg with a tail wind. It's Old School but it has all the comforts that makes my wife happy and willing to go camping with me and our 13 year old GSD. So far we've taken 20 long and short trips. I'm a guy that slept in the back of his Toyota trucks for 17 years until recently. At age 69 it's not easy crawling out of my sleeping bag and out of the bed of my truck when nature calls during the night. I read that Ford is coming out with an off road version of the Transport built with the interior skeleton and wiring to allow one to build it out themselves. Now that I'd be interested in, Wish I had saved the article. One could always roll into their local Ford dealership and ask one of the goons in the showroom what they know.....duh!

That's what I was gravitating toward when I first started looking at Class C rigs. That photo is of a 19', I ended up buying a used 24'-8" rig. Plenty of room for 2 adults and a Senior 100lb. 13 year old GSD. A 19' rig would be tough on storage.

Where did you see this rig? Arizona? Do you remember the name of the RV Dealer? How much were they asking $$$$?

A lot to unpack here. This picture is my RV that I bought from Cruise America. Thor Motor Coach makes these 19 foot Majestics but they stopped selling them to the general public a few years ago. They only produce them for Cruise America to be used as rental fleets. Only way to buy one is used from Cruise America or if you can find a private seller but they are pretty rare. We paid approximately $50k for it. It has 78k miles, its a V10 and its in incredibly good shape for a former rental. These stubby RVs arent nearly as popular so there are fewer of them and they get used less Which equates to higher prices. The 23 foot models sell for $35-40k. We will be using it with 2 people and a 45 pound dog. We are coming up from a GFC and a Four Wheel Camper so trying to tell me this will be “tough on storage” is hilarious. Im going to convert it to 4x4 so I wanted the shortest RV possibly for better departure angles offroad.

Ah, so thats why I recognized the shape of it. Seemed familiar. Yea, those V10s. As long as you do the proper maintenance on them they will last a long time.
I'm excited to see it after the 4x4 Conversion.

We looked at rigs at the Cruise America lot in Carson, talk about "ridden hard and put away wet!". Glad you found the rig you wanted and it was in good condition. It's amazing how much stuff my wife wants to drag along when we camp. The storage bay is full! Mid October we did a 1,500 mile trip thru Arizona and back home to San Diego. Great trip! Gas in Tucson was $3.25 a gallon!

Hell no, reliability is key here. Also 400+ lb/ft is plenty

Looks pretty cool. Seems like you get similar functionality to having an iphone+mac. I wonder how well it works.
