Stopped playing video games when my son was born almost 9 years ago. Recently, my son started hanging out with a classmate of his who is also on his soccer team, and he had a PS4 and Fifa. So he started talking about it, and I convinced the Mrs to let me buy a used PS4, and the game.

Needless to say that I also started playing again, and now I play more than he does.

So now I've been thinking about "upgrading" what we have. Always been a PlayStation person... had them all so far. Never really played Xbox.

Been reading about both, asking my friends and family (who play) for opinions and input. Both of my cousins who play video games have an Xbox X Series, so they're "pushing" that.

Which one is "better" per se? I know it's subjective, and it comes down to a matter of preference a lot of times, but technically speaking is one system better than the other? Or are they just about the same? From what I've read, seems like the Xbox might be a bit better spec wise. A bit better processor, things of that sort.

So looking for input from people who are more avid gamers than I am, if you don't mind.

 

XBox for Forza! New one comes out this year. And Horizon is a ton of fun.

 

Depends which gen console you're looking at, if we're talking ps5 vs series x i think the ps5 is the superior machine. Keep in mind they're about to do the ps5 slim soon so that might affect your decision as well

 

Don't think I'm really "concerned" about a slim version or not to be honest. I think my biggest thing is just trying to go with the better console. Especially since I know I'll be playing it a lot, and my son will as well I'm sure since he's already talking about playing other sports games.

Price wise from what I've seen, they seem to be around the same give or take.

Part of me wants to go PS5 because I've always been a PlayStation person. But then part of me wants to go Xbox so I can play vs my cousins (even though I know that now there is cross console playing), and play the same system whenever I go to their house to hang out and know how to play so I don't get beat too bad by them. LOL

 

Get both

 

I'm already risking my life buying one... not really sure how I'm going to "sell" it to the Mrs.

If I get both, I'm as good as dead.
