I haven't checked recently, but they were hosting Overland Expo East near there. Easy access to the Georgia Traverse as well.

Hey Floridians. Wanted to drop by for nostalgia purposes. It popped up on my facebook memories that a decade ago this past weekend, we had one of our larges FL Tacomas off road meets at the time, at Tillis Hills. Not everyone was in the photo, but we had close to 30 vehicles that weekend. most of the folks (myself included) either no longer live in florida, or have a different vehicle now. I hope yall are having the same amount of fun as we did back when this thread was started :)

This group use to wheel! Tons of fun back then.

Sadly there are no spots in Florida that interest me. Main reason I haven't finished the motor swap up on the old runner.

I don't even know if it's still accessible these days, but the quarry/puts were always a great time. After an Ocala or citrus meet, a couple of us with more capable and armored trucks would always head out there for a half day. Great rock crawling.

I didn't go that day, but I have been to both the A and B pits.

    I don't think they're accessible anymore.

That's too bad, some of the best in Florida.. People mistreated that place terribly, so it was only a matter of time before the entrances were sealed off.

It's been a hot minute since I've checked in on here, what's everyone up to? I'm sitting here wondering where the time has gone since I turn 29 today...

I think this was the year prior to when I first went in 2014. It's been a long while since I have done any wheeling myself. I left Florida back in 2019 when I separated from the AF, got hired on with the FAA and moved up to Bismarck North Dakota. I do miss these annual meets we used to have, man I still miss everyone down there.

ignore the bed on the 1980 lol, there's a reason behind it, but it's a long story, I'll have my factory 1st gen long bed back on when Spring time rolls around lol

Missing the warm florida weather right about now. Here's a throwback from one of our camp and rides.
I must say the wheeling is better up here though :luvya:

I can't even remember what year the last organized ride was. Looks like pretty much everyone's hobbies have since changed

That was my first time meeting up with the Florida Tacomas crew, aside from a beach meet or two I think. That was a fun weekend.

I think the 2019 Fall Camp & Ride was the last one. I missed it due to work, then Covid canceled, well, everything.

Yeah I tried organizing the annual one in 2020 and that all got canceled and shut down. From what I've seen, there hasn't been another annual one

I think I only went back out there once or twice after the last organized one and one of those times the had graded trail 14. I ended up selling my truck shortly after that and moved on from Citrus

    @Taco No Baka

Lee do you know anything about the Howa Oryx? I'm thinking about getting one in 6.5 Creedmoor. Seems to be a solid 1/2moa gun right out of the box, MDT makes the chassis and I can get it new for just over 8 hundred. I'm still not planning on reloading, just using premium ammo.

Lee you're the resident tac driver, but if anyone else has experience with this rifle please feel free to comment.

Picked up some ADI 69grain sierra matching hpbt ammo in .223. I rebarreled an AR with a 1 in 8 twist barrel. We'll see if it likes the 69 grain more than the 77 I've ran through it. The 77 gave me 1.25 5 round groups.

    Only 69 cents a round when I bought 200.

The Rezvani Tank. Shaped like a badass FJC reboot, but built on a Pentastar-powered (with a 6.2 Supercharged Hellcat engine option) Heep Wrangler chassis. It's like the bastard child result of some unspeakable sin against the universe. Jesus wept.
