Saw mirrors mentioned and couldn't help but recommend Doubletake mirrors. We put them on the KLX when we got it.. pricey but worth it! They've held up to branches on trails, being slammed into the road when the bike was dropped, and the RAM mounts can double as a GoPro or phone mount.

Im going to add a ram mount to the already existing ram mount that comes with the mirrors. Since I lost my phone mounting spot in the center of my handlebars, gotta move the phone somewhere else (and add yet another screen)

I just use a little bicycle mirror. It's perfect for offroad bikes.

I have them on my f800, they've been great for the last couple years. Stay in place on the road and easy to adjust when they get knocked around.

I did a 750+ mile overnight trip yesterday/today that was more intense/brutal than anything I've done before on a motorcycle (except crashing). I rode through sub 30 degree weather and felt like ice. My visor fogged up and then the condensation froze so I had to ride visor up in the cold, plus wind, dark, traffic and construction. I stopped at a Starbucks and it took me 10 minutes to get enough feeling in my hands to take my gear off. The person working there said I was insane lol

Once it warmed up and I got to the super twisty parts, everything was worth it. Bike did pretty well, but it has an issue starting now where the battery voltage dips so much that it resets my clock and trip meters, and the center stand is loose so it wobbles.

Do you have a li-ion battery, by chance? I have one and when it's below freezing I have to let it warm up the internals of the battery a bit by either bumping the starter a few times or turning the high beams on for a few minutes. Once it's flowed some juice for a little bit it's fine, but if I try to start it right away it'll drop the voltage so low it'll reset everything.

I don't think so, but I'll have to check. It first started having issues after riding it for several hours and stopping to take the first picture (no more than 2 min). It almost seems like the stator isn't charging the battery enough.

Oof, yeah, sounds like a stator issue if it did it right after you were done riding. Either that or a dead cell on the battery potentially. Check that out ASAP, don't want to get stranded somewhere, sounds like you dodged a bullet on that ride by noticing it starting to go out instead of just flat failing.

Try and get a voltage reading while off, at idle, and while riding if you can. Those SAE plug in ones are handing for getting riding voltages. From there you could troubleshoot deeper and actually meter out your stator windings to see if it's that or your regulator/rectifier causing issues.

well here it is! the bike looks amazing! it makes me want to tear it down and coat the frame a old purple and get my wheels coated gold (already think about that!)

also if you notice the bolts are loose on the plastic thats because i really wanted to see it on the bike lol according to skda you put the decals on and then for 2-3 days you have to put the edges back down and hit it with some heat at least twice a day so they learn how they need to lay so the bike is back to being naked now lol

@w.adventures you were right, I should have just waited and bought a full cartridge kit. I'm hoping the springs I ordered arrive tomorrow or friday, so I was looking at install directions and grom forks are a weird design. I figured they were like standard upside down forks and you could just remove the cap to replace the springs.. NOPE! even to replace the springs you have to remove the fork bottoms which involves torching off thread locker. Ugh. Tempted to return the springs and spring (pun intended) for the ohlins or racing bros setup.

Is there something in the owners manual for what rider weight the stock forks are rated for?

You sure you need to torch them? Everything I have read just says you need a special tool so you don’t scratch the fork tubes. Don’t know if they work for your Grom :notsure: https://store.hardracing.com/grom-o...k-tools-for-13-20-honda-grom-grom-sf-in-stock

Just watched the install video. The special tool and heating the loctite makes the job easier. To be fair, dude I saw used a heat gun and got them to about 190 degrees.
