I'm pretty sure I've yet to use algebra despite what all my teachers told me growing up

I actually use math all the time... proofs I've learned in algebra, fair amount of shit from geometry and trig(figuring shit out for machining and angle work on fabrication). Shit my wife will even tell you I'm the type of person they wrote those grade school math word problems about because I'm constantly making up equations in my head just for the sake of doing math.

But I couldn't stomach being a math major, there's just too much depth and detail of shit I'd go crazy

It says "idle" i imagine it's for a stationary high idle for faster warm up or PTO usage or increased alt output to support electronics

Pythagorean theorem for some gusset style piece and using pi when figuring the 'outside' length of a circle.

With baking it's easy cause it's just using and already known recipe and quantity yield and quickly figuring how to change not only the size per serving, but changing how many servings as well.

Just sucks when you're breaking down to 1/4's and whatnot cause in baking, everything is scaled and you're back and forth between grams/liters and back to ounces, etc.

Then also figuring out when to actually scale, and when skip the scaling and use the actual cup for measurement instead.

C = A(-B + -D) where C equals how delicious your baked goods are gonna be, A is life expectancy, and B and D are sugar and fat ratios :burp:

Lol no I mean it in the baking sense.

I work in a place with arrogant european pastry chefs.

half the recipes are in grams, the other have standard. It makes everything way better when everything, even liquids are measured to gram for baking, desserts, ect.

The french chef fixed everything and changed all the recipes to grams and wouldn't you know consistency has improved.

but yes, the metric system was taught to me the same as most.

I'm in school, and not going to be changing recipe's.

The main thing is learning technique.

Today I made French macarons and damn every step is very technical and must be done to a T.
