I drove the previous generation raptor, it’s a cool truck.

Always good to have choices because that makes for good competition.

One thing that I personally like about the current ferd designs ( Bronco, F 150, Ranger ) is that they still design an arched wheel well that visually matches up to the ROUND tires that the vehicle rolls on.

Like 90% of vehicles on the road? Personally I like the Tacoma's arches, but I've never seen a plain old round wheel well and thought that it added to the design, it's more like the standard.

You know they won't, not when the Bronco Raptor selling for $100k with 37" tires still gets a turbo V6.

The pics I saw of the lower trim level headlights look more rugged I think. I heard rumors they’ll offer a cclb. Which would be my dream taco configuration IF ONLY the payload was better. In my mind I should have enough for a human per seat + 500 for the bed cargo and mods, minimum. With the power specs and payloads of those rangers, a cclb would be pretty good for me imo

This. People complain that they all look the same but it’s for marketing. They want you to know a vehicle is made by a specific brand at a glance. Brand identity. Like how John Deere’s are green. You know instantly it’s a Deere

I've never liked the style of the arches on my 2nd gen, I think that the 3rd gen's cleaned them up a bit but still not my favorite design. I mainly notice that trucks/suvs have oddly shaped wheel well arches.

Yeah, the 2nd gens weren't my favorite arches, agreed on the 3rd gen being an improvement, I think they look better as more symmetrical. I really liked the arches on the previous gen Chevy/GMC trucks, that more square-ish style had been on those trucks for generations, was disappointed to see them go to the round arches in the newer gens, it's like they got rid of a main styling cue of those trucks being boxier to go with a sleeker look. Like I said, I think anything other than round to match the tires is a styling choice, works on some vehicles and not so much on others.

The best looking Ford Ranger style truck I spotted was in Costa Rica a few years ago, and it was a diesel.

I was parked next to a Ford Maverick in a parking lot a few days ago. I like Ford's and my son has a nice 2016 F150 4x4 XLT Sport, so I took a look through the driver's window and was surprised to see lots of what looked like hard, cheap plastic. It's also smaller than I thought it would be. The interior looked small as well. No idea what trim level it had, and I wasn't expecting to see a "Limited" level of trim, but it still surprised me. I wouldn't label it: "Utilitarian". First word that came to mind was: "Fleet". I was also surprised to see that the bed wasn't separate from the cab. I personally don't know why anyone would want a truck smaller than a Tacoma/Ranger/Colorado/Frontier. Smaller than a Tundra, F150 or Silverado I can understand.
