MAJOR FUCK UP THIS AM.

While washing dishes from breakfast, I broke my Tree House beer cup.

FUCK ME.

Guess I have to plan a trip up there to reload, and buy a new cup.

Morning everyone! Here goes.....

So, it was the summer of 2020. Our oldest son had his license for about a year. I had already taught him to drive manual on my Miata so he was itching for a manual and a project.

We(I) found a 2015 BMW 325XI manual in Ware, MA. We knew it needed engine work so we went to look at it. When we got there the seller had 2 of them. A sedan and a wagon. We drove the sedan. It definitely had engine issues. It wasn't running on all cylinders. After some talking back and forth we talked ourselves into buying it........and the wagon! We called mom on the way home. "How did it go?" "Did you buy it?" No, we bought 2. There was lots of silence.

Fast forward a week. I rented a trailer and went to pick them up. 2 trips to Ware, MA in a day. We took the sedan to a European car shop. They ran a bore scope. Sure enough! Blown valve. Big chip out of it. We got it home and my son began to tear the engine down. We had the head machined. With some guidance from a mechanic friend(and use of his tools) my son replaced the pistons, rods, bearings, valves, etc. In the end(several months later) the car fired up! It was quite the proud dad moment. Mom finally realized it was all a learning experience. He drove the car for a while and sold it. Ended up parting out the wagon and scrapping what was left.

He's know into making a drift Miata from everything from the motor, turbo, suspension, standalone ECU, etc. He's something else!

 

Black berry brandy for me. But sadly the wind will be blowing hot ash all over the place. So it better be an indoor fire.

I tore down a 72 jeep. ( cracked head). Outside with a snowstorm in between tear down and waiting for the replacement head. My parts all in the jeep. I had a cardboard cutout for all the valve rods, to keep them to get in the original places. when I finally got it put together she ran like a brand new motor. Then the gas tank had a leak. It never ended with that vehicle lol.

 

It's a jeep... enough said.

Was a jeep, I sold it to a guy to run logs in new Hampshire in the early eighties. No way it’s running now. I would think.

Did that the first time I went to the gun store a few years after we got married. Went there to buy a rifle, when I got there they had a real nice (like new) used Ruger American chambered in in .270 and an used 12 gauge pump also like new. Both were well below their value so I bought both. Even got a "package deal" discount. LOL! My wife was good about but not exactly impressed.

 

Day four. Old car number five. Not that bad. 2005 SC430. $1,500 for repairs

 

Ready for what is left of winter, hopefully.

 

Terrible cars to drive but they sound quite good with an aftermarket exhaust

 

Scratch that. Old car number 6. 2001 ES, 184,000. I have a feeling someone is telling me that I’m old.

 

To qualify for old you need to know what this is used for:

 

It’s a spring compressor. That I’m certain of.
