1up is the leftovers of a good design. The original innovator, Cal, left and partnered with a machinist as formed this new company.

I own a 1up myself and it’s fine. There was a ton of drama and it took forever and a day for the new company to get production going. And all sorts of price targets which continued to increase.

I’m still convinced it’s the best bike rack though. 1up was good 20 years ago but it’s not perfect.

Agreed. I own the 1up and for my very limited use it’s great. But for those who want the best of the best, 1up’s patent and design is older Gen and the company is more focused on sales and marketing rather than innovation.

It certainly sucks that quickrack’s prices are so high. Cal’s original plan was to beat the 1up price but he is all design and prototypes and less about execution and assembly. Raw material prices don’t help anyone. At least they are being made rather than just new ideas and prototypes that nobody can buy.

My friends have been using these, at least for Mt.Bikes and they love them. More than the 1Up.
