Anyone into R/C?

You need a radio with stability control, svc,tsm,avc. I like my GT5 radio with the BS6 receivers, i can use it on crawlers or use it on bashers, just turn on the svc and use the steering assist to keep it somewhat stable. The factory integrated systems just dumb everything down and won’t let you use the full power. I’m no expert, but that’s what I use.

Definitely a gyro. It keeps it stable and straight.

I have a couple! I mainly crawl so I break less parts that way.

Yep! It's pieced together, but basically has fully built Capra axles on a 3D printed Capra shafty chassis I got from Thingiverse, on a skid plate I designed and printed. Drivetrain, shocks and transmission are from Dluxfab.

 

Anyone build their own battery packs? Is there a battery pack layout tool? I'm making an 8s4p(for a different application) pack but want to run it through a tool to verify a different layout to fit the space better. The copper busbars in this on-end pack should be laid out right, but the flat pack probably isn't. I want a tool to verify this.

I bought this back in October,

TRX-4, method wheels and some PL Hyrax tires. lots of rub, but I'm currently ( slowly ) painting a 2nd gen Taco body to replace the Bronco body so I'll fix the rub soon(ish)

anyone do some airbrushing in here? I'm in the "gathering supplies" phase so I haven't actually laid any paint yet.

The Gray Chev is mine, the Green Chev and white Jeep belong to my 5yr old, and the Red Buggy is my 8yr old's.



I've got a few goodies on there, Mostly Injora stuff like wheels, diff covers, LED lights, Motor, Emax Servo etc.. the usual bolt on stuff. The tires are Wrangler MT/R's which I like a lot.

PS: I'm looking to upgrade the servo on the TRX-4, any recommendations? looking for bolt on / no mods required at this point.

 

I am totally new to the game but I've started building an R/C model of my Tacoma. I've got a long way to go yet but I'll probably have a lot of questions.

Anyone going to USTE in Florida? Its more about scale trucks, but there’s a lot of vendors and cool people. Always fun to runtrails and talk shit.

 

Always seemed like a cool event. But far from Colorado. ... Anyone coming for the rocky mountain regional championship?

 

I've never been to an event like that before so that one may be one I go check out.

It's a comp event so I gotta dig into the new sorcca rules. They are such a drastic change from the previous version. I don't go into it expecting to score well. Just fun to drive within the constraints of a course with a ruleset to even the field to some extent and truly measure your skill

 

Where do you find those? Whenever I try to look them up I can only find stuff from 10 years ago. I don't do comps, but it's interesting reading how they score everything.
