Did I add these to the thread? Gentrified dirtbagger extension for 6’1 people that bought a 5’ bed but want to sleep two adults under the closed camper shell. $50 in materials. Collapsible and stowable.

Also, poor man’s sliding “drawer” so I don’t have to hunch over and drag out heavy items when there’s lots of crap in there. And there’s always lots of crap in there. Doubles as a backboard if someone breaks something and needs to be evacuated! Note the sliding rail and cutout so it can be stowed easily, and the minor grinding of the D-ring so it lies flat and the tray glides over like a…piece of plywood.

 

Well hell, I need those too.

 

I switched to this one for that same reason. You can just set the gas cap in this one.

I have this one it works ok sometimes the cap just falls out if the hole

I wouldn’t have paid for a plain black one as the clip does work fine. But the broke college kid wanted a cheap Christmas wish from me and I think the flag one looked cool. ‘Merica, hell yeah!

I never had a single gas attendant place the gas cap that way...would always let it drop. Every one has used the gas hole since I installed it.

 

I've been my "gas attendant " for 40+ years. Have always hung the cap with the tether that way or on the hanger built in on other vehicles. Bought a cap holder, slide in type and use both methods now.

 

The last thing I would have said to a gas station attendant is: Fill it with ethyl.
