    Yes they are there.

You just have to notch your radio bezel to fit. 20 seconds with a Dremel style tool.

There's notches on the back side to accommodate for the cables so yes.

Hi guys. I just received mine. How is everyone tapping into the cigarette lighter? Unless there’s something I don’t know the power ends of the wires are useless.

I did something similar albeit under passenger dash and wired to a relay and powertray fuse box. I wanted mine to have enough power to charge a usb-c laptop if desired. Works like a dream.

Which specific part? It’s pretty easy - battery -> fuse box-> relay triggered by ignition-> 12->24v converter - >PD/QC usb charger.

(I’m running two sockets - the second originally was wired to my ham radio but I’ve now hard wired that to always have power. And the second inline fuse is to protect that generic converter from over pulling)

Before I start messing with wires and pulling the dash apart, are there installation and wiring instructions for this?

I know where to mount it, but suggestions on wiring or a step by step would be helpful.

    TIA!

I still haven't gotten around to figuring out how I will install mine either. Wish there was an easy plan and play.

i havent bought this product. are you guys implying a harness for the cigarette lighter would be ideal for easy install and or DIY'ers? looks like a cool product.

could always use a t harness from the head unit and tap power from the head unit without needing to chomp through factory wires. or using a light switch harness to tap from a switch in the center console. like this

The truck is pre-wired for trailer brake controller, so you could grab the hot wire from it if you dont plan on using it for towing.

Yeah, This device will be awesome once I get it wired. For some reason I thought I would just be able to grab power from the stock lighter because its right there. My guess is the device you shared would be lower voltage than what would be needed to run a MagSafe charger. The lighter socket can do it but the radio usb cannot. for some reason my 18 pro with technology package does not have any charge ports in the center console either. Either way I just want to safely send power to my magnetic cell power without splicing into wires. Some people are totally fine with splicing and I agree that there's nothing wrong with it when done properly, I just always try to avoid it before having to. I was hoping that there was a dongle I could use because there are so many people with tacoma accessories. At this point I think the easiest way is going to be straight tapping the fuse box.

Please don’t use that to power anything other than a small switch LED. Thank you.
