    Good morning friends. Cold is moving in today and then spring returns next week. Had one hell of a work day yesterday. Definitely fits into a moronic report.

    One of my 2 major projects is to bring in, install, qualify, and start production off of 22 fully automated CNC vertical mills. It’s falling past due because the other plant is supposed to take these parts and assemble them but they are behind in customer deliveries. Im 3 months behind. In the meantime, business development has been overseeing tooling builds and the tool room is overflowing with work so they prioritize. Yesterday the tool room sent me a set of fixtures for a pair of machines. They get installed and I notify QC to start gathering the customer documentation for submitting. He come back and tells me that those fixtures have to wait until the end of the project as he’s trying to now group the customer submissions together to make it less work for himself. I need to pull the fixtures and wait for the tool room to complete a different set that was planned to be delivered later. Business development is overseeing the planning of the project with weekly gantt chart meetings and they didn’t realize the tool room was directed to make these fixtures before others. They never matched up QC’s submitting schedule to the fabrication schedule. Now guess who has to break the news to the president of the company today. Left hand and right hand are different species! Responsibility without authority sucks.
