That did not fix the issue. Thank you for trying though!

I also took off the new switch stalk and put the old one back on and the errors remained. With that said, I placed the new one back on and will be taking it to a dealership next week to see if a zero point calibration fixes the issue. I really am hoping/feeling that is the issue because it only happened after i started driving. I think the ECU/TSS system was thrown off by my wheel being sideways while going straight earlier.

I got my truck fixed. It appears that i broke the steering angle sensor whilst taking off the clock spring. Careful with that plastic....New SAS removed all codes and truck is driving fine.

I did this install over the weekend on my pre-wired 2017 SR. I upgraded/replaced the turn indicator stalk to maintain the factory look and feel. It turned out great, but there were definitely a few times where I felt lost...for some reason I wasn't understanding that in order to do this you need to take EVERYTHING off the steering wheel column. I thought after I took the wheel off I was home free. Not the case. Anyway, it took me probably 5x as long as it should have, shuffling between my drivers seat and my garage table watching youtube videos and cursing under my breath...but we got er done! Went with diode dynamics ss3 in my cbi bumper housing. If anyone plans on doing this exact install soon and has specific questions about the process, feel free to reach out! It was all relatively simple but it's by far the most advanced work I've done on a vehicle. For the removal of the airbag/steering wheel, I found this video very helpful. Thanks TW

Has anyone done the No steering wheel removal option on a SR5 Trail Edition?
With the cargo light and power source in the bed (switch located on the interior left panel) can we still wire the switch properly?
I'd rather not pull the steering wheel, unless absolutely necessary. I know these are wired at the bumper. 20230202_103620.jpg

Do you have a blank switch spot on the driver's cubby panel?

    Yes 2 (1 upper, 1 lower).
I read through the thread and around pg 20 I see some possible issues with pulling power to a switch. Given that the Trail Edition has a few other options than the OP, Im wondering if the wiring can be done the same way.

You have read wrong, there is no pulling of power, the blue wire requires a ground. Now for an illuminated switch to behave as the rest of the dash switches, you'd tie into the dash illumination circuit. Nothing complicated.

You should be able to wire the same way to the cargo light connector as in my post if you us a CH4X4 or similar switch that has the same wiring color diagram:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/nitoris-oem-sr-foglight-mod.451495/page-20#post-23529740
The only “power” is the +/- illumination power. The relay you add provides the power to the fog lights. If your cargo connector is already being used you can tap into the cargo wires with positaps or T taps (positaps preferred).
Pretty sure you are pre-wired so,
Switch Green wire: – tap in to M6 Main Body ECU connector pin 26 blue wire.
Also someone here on TW makes adapter pigtail connectors that could allow you to not have to tap into the cargo wires with taps, can’t remember who that is…

Ok so, just follow the original install post for pre-wire not steering wheel removal...then add the pigtail from the cargo wries to the new switch.
Shouldn't be too hard if thats the case.

    Thank you!

So, I can just message @kmorgan3 to purchase a pigtail. Then install as outlined for pre-wired non steering wheel removal?

Yes, the harness will provide added switch illumination feature and ground source. (total of 3 wire intercepted)
