Also when it comes to weight savings, you want more weight towards the bottom of your truck. Keeps center of gravity (COG) lower. I love it when people bitch about saving weight so they get everything aluminum and then throw a RTT on a camper shell or whatever....makes no sense

No I thought you had steel everywhere? If not it wasn't directed towards you, I've see it in other threads

I'm just messing with you, i dont even have skids yet but with no sway bars I can tell major difference with any weight added up high.

I was trying to save weight when I went with wheels and tires. I go FN wheels because they were the lightest not stupid priced option and the tires were some of the lightest 285s I could find. I definitely agree low center of gravity is the best for wheeling. And my camping set up is just a simple tent. I went with a low profile bumper to have the winch.

Rotational weight is entirely different than what he was referring to though, so losing some weight on wheels/tires is much more dramatic lol.

I think alot of people overthink the whole "added weight" thing. Other factors like aero and tread pattern have much more of an impact.

Yup 100%. Rotational weight is way different and very smart to go as "light" as you can/want to. But like you said you off-road different compared to others so aluminum could work if you have the cash for it, I just don't recommend it since I see very little benefits for the extra cash vs minimal mpg gain

Yep, I am probably gonna go with the MITs due to all the adding they offer. Getting ready to sell a couple things so I can make it happen.

yea, "fabricator" looks to be a bit of a stretch. Looks like a guy with a CNC plasma cutter and no welding experience.

Anyone have access to a lift I could use?

Need to do a fluid flush on my 328xi (GM Trans) and it requires putting the car in drive while filling.
